Alliances and guilds on different servers

Search is down so I can't find an answer the usual way.

So can someone tell me if alliances are specific to regional servers, such as European or US, or can guilds across them form an alliance?

i would say no to that, cause if u did a hoh wid an allience u couldnt if they wasnt say european and u wouldnt be able to meet up unless u went intennalnal and i aint sure if u can get on 2 say a diffent reginal distracit like all the ones like u can on your own

i agree. i don't think that you can form an alliance with another guild that is on another server..but maybe you can try going to an international district and allinace or something...

Well my guild members thought it is possible, so that doesn't really help! Can someone with specific knowledge comment? No speculation please.

EDIT: I found a comment on another part of the forum about an alliance with US and European guilds. Can anyone confirm that such an alliance is possible?

Ibbo and loki: have you tested your answer, or is it simply a guess? You gave a reason why you think such, but you never said, "My guild attempted to form an alliance with guild blah from blahblah, and it failed due to region".

I believe you can form an alliance with guilds from other regions, there is no reason why not. Alliances play zero role in HoH. Furthermore, guildhalls have no region, sure an international alliance would need to visit the international region if they wanted to pve together, or do halls, team or even random arenas together. GvG is regionless though, and I just don't know what would happen if you formed an international team and attempted to do an alliance battle. Guilds can be international in membership, I don't see why alliances can't.

I don't know the answer, but I do know a way to find out.

Go to any city that's held by a certain aliance. Check which aliance that is, then change territory to, say, Europe. If the same aliance is holding that town, then it doesn't matter if guilds are in different regions.

[EDIT] Come to think of it, just go into International. If it's held by ANY aliance, then region wouldn't matter.
