ive read that they are coming out "in summer", does anyone have the official word as to the exact or even a rough date for their release?

"Summer" would be the most accurate info so far. I don't think they specified which year though.

No, an exact date on when you can purchase additional character slots for $10US has not been set. All that has been stated is sometime this summer. That said, it's not summer yet, so hold your horses
