I'm starting my second character and decided to go with a Ranger in Factions. My first character was an E/Me in Prophecies (I play on and off that's why it took me so long). I don't know what to choose for my ranger's secondary. I want to be able to sometimes solo/farm. I was tempted to choose R/Mo, but I see many just stick with Troll Unguent skill.

Any suggestions?

mesmer is nice for the elemantal absorbtions stuff and tons of other stuff.

but R/Mo is ok too. honesly, when i play R/Mo itsd only to hav reusable resurection.

i say go mesmer

go R/Mo imo... having Rebirth comes in handy

secondary doesn't mean all too much as a Ranger... but tbh you can always just change your secondary later...

Honestly, unless you had a specific purpose in mind, I'd just choose whatever class you needed the unlocks for.

I'd go with the 'choose what you need to unlock' too. Saves you ALOT of money or Faction on buying new skills if you pick a class you haven't used yet.

All monk is useful for is Rebirth
All mesmer is useful for are the Mantras or Ele/Phy Resistance

Both obviously have more uses but they're the main ones. YOu could always go R/N though and have fun casting Shadow Of Fear onto warriors and interrupting there attack skills

and you get monk love if you carry blood ritual. since seconday is not very usefull, i go with casters support

I have a R/Mo. Use my Mo side for the following:
Mend Ailment
Rebirth
Remove Hex/Holy Veil
Mending (only for running)

If you plan to only use a Hard Rez, then look into Ritualists, they have some good hard rez.
