Rurik is Elonian

The other day, I was doing some questing in the Crystal Desert and... well, just take a look for yourself:

by that logic...every character who has a fds is from elona, even though the story says they are from ascalon or cantha

its a quest item from an npc in heros audiance...

Rurik is only 1/16th Elonian, on his mothers side. At least thats what he told me. =)

Besides, that sword don't even belong to Rurik. That sword is part of "The Misplaced Sword" quest. It belong to an Elonian, but not Rurik.

How can the prince of Ascalon be Elonian? It just doesn't make sense.

Since when did logic have anything to do with GW lore and storylines?

Anyway, my guess that since Rurik is Elonian, the 3rd chapter will be about fighting nooby NPC's.

Anyway, the quest was probably made to give us a clue about Rurik, imho

FDSs drop from the desert onward. Orr was a country that traded with Ascalon, likewise the nation of Elona. Likely many of the highly prized 'flaming blades' were exported as a treasure to Ascalon, who equipped its royal family and guards with them. Even if that is incorrect, you can find weapons of many types in many places. The fact only the royal guards and family wield FDSs show they are a treasure of the Ascalon's Chosen, which for all we know could have won them in wars against Orr.

Oh and don't forget that Elonians did traded with the Canthans and Ascalonian ;p (not sure if Krytans as well).

Hey, those FDSs may very well be Elonian made, traded/exported to the nations in the COntinent of Tyria. At least from what I read from the GWF CE manuscript, Humans first settled in the continent of Cantha than in Tyria. And there are theories that some Canthans were Elonians.

If C3 is really about Elonians, then ANet SL writers are following what is a proven fact. Humanity in Planet Earth originated from Africa.

Could it be the same in the Planet Tyria?

Just because rurik holds an FDS and theres an FDS skinned sword doesnt mean rurik is elonian. If it really is ruriks sword, please explain how it got there from the shiverpeaks (Where rurik died)

WAMMO'S ARE ELONIAN! They use teh uber leet FDS too

Rurik is a decendant of King Doric, who was the leader of the united human tribes and travelled to the Orrian peninsula to make the gods split up magic. If he would have lived in the ascalon area at the time as well, since rurik and adelbern are his decendants, he could possibly have travelled through the desert to get to Orr and could have found a sword there.

Of course it's not by any means a definite answer, it is one explanation.

Then again, Adelberns guards also have fiery dragon swords, so maybe they just import them.

How can Rurik be elonian if hes the king of ASCALON'S Son?. Just because he has an FDS doesn't mean its his there are LOADS of FDS's out there. I have one , am i elonian?

Considering that you sometimes see the guards on the nameless isle with FDS (Saw all 4 with one each once) I hardly doubt Rurik is Elonian. Not forgetting that some Ascalon guards use FDS and even crystaline (from time to time).

People, I didn't say Rurik was FROM Elonia, but that he has Elonian blood in him!

You see? It could mean all Ascalonians have Elonian blood in them too...
