I know that this class has been suggested many times, but what makes this different from most is that I've drawn out concepts for what this class would look like based on my experience of playing Guild Wars. I figured pictures convince more than words so here's some images of what my girlfriend and I thought would be a good class to add to the Guild Wars family of professions. Since the new professions seemed to be based off of the previous character models (i.e. ranger = ritualists, or necromancer = assassin) this class could be built off of the mesmer model. It was my intention that the troubadour profession use instruments instead of weapons to battle their enemies so I threw in a couple of examples of what possible instruments could be used. My girlfriend suggested that offhand weapons could be whistles or bells, maybe a tambourine. Obvioulsy drums, lutes/guitars, and flutes would be two handed weapons. I also conceived that their skills could be songs and that the song names would be titles of the skills. Ideally the primary color of their armor would be blue when first purchased so that's the color I leaned to in the pictures. Some differentiating attributes would be the hats for head protection and high collars to protect the throat from injury for vocal attacks. I especially like the large brimed hats with the feathers, they strike me as a good unique quality. Also if this class were assimilated into the game it would be interesting to see if the designers/programers could implement the instruments to be used during the musical emotes so that they'd be visible when played. It'd be neat to see players of different classes to keep instruments to be used for this purpose.
hope the bandwidth holds out:
