Precision Shot - Bow Attack
If Precision Shot hits, you strike for +10-22 damage. Precision Shot cannot be "Blocked" or "Evaded." This action is easily interrupted.

Energy: 10 Cast Time: 0 Recharge: 6

Called Shot - Bow Attack
Shoot an arrow that moves 3 times faster than normal and cannot be "Blocked" or "Evaded."

Energy: 5 Cast time: 0 Recharge: 3

Notice: Precision Shot's energy and recharge time are double that of Called Shot. Also both have similar purposes: to hit targets that can block and evade. You can shoot twice as many Called Shots than Precision Shots and therefore twice the arrows will hit your foe. Additionally Called Shot is not easily interrupted (a huge advantage imo) and the arrow travels three times faster; its a guaranteed hit.

For my build with kindle arrows i would chose Called Shot, however i can see why someone with read the wind may chose otherwise. But also consider: the damage of two Called Shots will be greater than one Precision Shot, especially if you use damaging Preparations + life stealing bow.

When you review the facts its pretty clear that Called Shot is better. Spikers may argue against me, but why would you use either of those skills in a spike build, much less and easily interruptable one!

Opinions?

I think it's been well known that Precision Shot isn't worth the slot in PvE or PvP. Don't know about replacing it with Called Shot, though.

Both are pretty useless... Marauders Shot is a 100 times better.

Well, if you fire 6 shots:
Then you will have 1 Precision Shot, and 5 normal attacks...
With called shots its just: 2 called shots and 4 normal attacks.. Now if your targed aint running like hell or being a stance tank, then the Precision Shot one will do more dmg.. But that does not mean that its worth wasteing time on.. nor is Called shot imo.. Leave it to the devours to use that skill =/. And do as some ppl have allready suggested and take another (and better) attack with your

Oh for the love of god.... i mention this comparison ONCE in the 'useless ranger skills' thread and its been turned into a topic.

Just so you know, i was infact running Precision Shot earlier, why? Thunderkeep = Jade Bows = Whirling Defence = White Mantle Seekers = Dryders Defences.
Why didn't i run Marauders Shot? Well for one it doesn't hit when its evaded... and two, i don't have Factions. That and i couldn't be arsed to run Penetrating Shot like i usually do.

As for getting interrupted... i was interrupted more often for doing it in a stupid situation (like right after i just lured) than when i was under attack constantly.

As for it getting dodged..... use a better sodding bow if thats happening, i didn't miss 1 arrow from been dodged all mission/bonus while i was using the Recurve w/ Kindle.

As for Called Shot. Why use it anyway? 2 energy and probably a messed up refire action just to fire an arrow that won't miss? I'd rather just fire a normal arrow if i'm gonna hit the target anyway. Costs 3 energy less.

I guess if you were comparing the text and nothing else. 3x Faster > 2x Faster....

it is unfortunate that most fan sites are out of date when it comes to the quickshot description but here it is:

Quickshot on the other hand, leaves your bow twice as fast and can be shot directly after shooting your bow. for example -> dual shot + quickshot will shoot your opponent 3 times in a short period of time. If you were doing a dualshot + called shot you would have to wait the refire time for whatever bow your using...so another 1.6-2.1 seconds to shoot that 3rd arrow.

Quickshot > Called Shot, imo

In my build i would not use called shot. I was looking for the best way to counter mobs using stances. And when i look again, seeking arrows would be the best skill to use in that situation because the damage would be higher.

Yeah but you remove a preparation for it or have 2 preparations (including SA)if your want.
