Maintaining an alliance?

There was a post on another forum discussing alliances and a comment was made that if a guild's faction deteriorates to zero they are dropped from the alliance.

I have neither heard nor seen anything about this, can anyone validate this or point me to any documented occurance of this?

Not so. I can post a screenie if needed. Might be an alliance lead "requirement" though...not a GW thing.

The faction of our sister guild was at about 600 as of last night so that statement has proven false.

I'm guessing the guild just quit the alliance without letting anyone know so it appeared like they were "rejected" by the system rather than a person.
