Me and my friend played Prophecies since the release and had taken some time off from GW and just recentley bought Factions. We made characters on Factions campaign, leveled them through questing to 13 before doing our first mission. What seems weird though is we only have basic skills that you can buy from skills trainers, there were no quests to get skills like in prophecies. We are now lvl 16 and I still only have the skills avaliable at the Skills Trainer. I'm an E/Mo and I have 3 Fire skills....wtf? My friend is Rt/N and only has the ones avaliable from the Skills Trainer as well. Does this seem odd? I mean we are now at the Marketplace with lvl 20+ mobs and we are lvl 16 with just the basic skills. Did we do something wrong or...?

You no longer get skills by doing quests anymore? Like the good old days!

As far as i know, the Skill Trainers in both Cavalon & House Zu Helter have got all the skills that u can learn from Factions. Prophecies only skills can only be gained from skill trainers in Tyria and vice-versa. Hope that helps you....

Factions skills are either captured with a signet of capture, or purchased from the skill trainers. To support this mechanic you gain skill points much faster.

The final trainer at Harvest Temple has all the non-elite skills available.

Alright thanks for the info people. It just seems weird that I'm lvl 16 at Marketplace with 20+ NPC's and I have absolutely no skills compared to what I had at lvl 16 in Prophecies.

But that's by your choice. You don't get skill quests beyond the basics at the beginning but you aren't stuck with just those skills. Trainers in Kaineng or the Harbor or even the Monastery had more for you to buy.

As far as I could see, the trainer in Kaineng had all the skills there are for Rt. Does the one in Harves Temple really have more?

Later on skill trainers, such as Senji's corner, harvest temple, the capitals, etc have a few more skills that the Kaineng trainers do not. In the case of rit, that would be, for one, Nightmare weapon I believe.
