Ok all PVE guilds wants a lot of Kurzicks / Luxons faction in their guild, so maybe one day they could take over a town. When you take over a town you get benefits, like a 20% discount on merchant items. If you take over the Main house, you are able to enter the elite mission, ECT.
The problem is you really don’t know who transfer Kurzicks / Luxons faction to the Guild and how much they have transfer. We need a way to tell who is transferring faction for each single person in the guild. It’s just not fair for the people that transfer their faction to the guild, as they could have easy spent it on else things.
Ok I came up with 2 ideas. If you have any ideas ill post them under mine.
  1. Give the “Faction Transfer” guy a list of you guild mates, saying who has transfer Kurzicks / Luxons faction and how much faction has been transfer.
  2. Show how much Kurzicks / Luxons faction each member has transfer in the Guild Roster, next to everyone’s names.

I think the factions transfer person shouldn't do anything but that, allow you to transfer. If you wish a way of telling which guild members are transferring, how much total, how much in last x number of days, etc... this should be a Guild function for the officers and/or leader.

Even then, it could be abused, such as enforcing minimum daily/weekly quotas of each member or other ways I can't think of right now.

yep that's righ. Though I would be interested in owning a particular town, I'm afraid I'll never see the day (5 million faction??? omg...)

Also, apart from buying materials for armour, there isn't much else you would spend your faction on.

/notsigned. Leechers? so you're gonna boot them? Sounds like some internal corruption, I would have just ignored the situation. It just seems that if you have a town, you should be happy hundreds of other guilds (mine included) dont have one.

Wow, I can’t believe what I’m hearing. You guys seem to support leeching. It’s just about as bad to join a party and go afk during the mission. You really don’t want to help the group out, your just there to have a free ride.

people have a very close mentality they think mission leecheing have to punished while guild leeching no.

I will never join in a guild where is needed give a daily amout of faction , but i understand some guild want to do. nothing wrong with that.

It is not so much that we seem to promote leeching, but many guilds out there are really small guilds comprised of closed friends who know each other in RL. Measures such as these does seem to undermine the trust that people have in each other and brings out the worst in everyone.

Are you reading this with your eyes shut? I can't see anywhere where Firefly has said that ALL guilds should impose limits based on that informaiton. If you're in a small, friendly guild that doesn't care about faction, then you obviously won't need to impose limits, it's just like when guilds ask for a certain rank.

I think perhaps some people could only truly understand if they were a leader or an officer of a guild in a high ranking alliance. There's constant pressure to keep earning faction otherwise you could lose your place, and it's the sad truth that only a handful of memebers actually bring the faction in, while the rest leech of the success. Why? Becuase nothing is stopping them.

Anyway, check out the above link.

Some people join a guild for other reasons. There is more to GW than just damned factions points.

Ahh nothing like elitists trying to control the lives of others.
The whole idea of turning a game into a "guild work force" is rather silly to me.

On one hand I say the whole idea of seeing who turns in what for the basis of kicking "leechers" is cold hearted and rude. Some players have lives outside of GW and when they log in to play with friends that might have made within their guilds, the last thing they may want to do is faction farm. Then they get kicked for not wanting to "go to work on the farm".

On the other hand, I say add it; that way the players can see what kind people are running their guild and they can convince their friends to leave with them so they can enjoy the game they would rather be playing instead of "working on the farm".

Personally, I'm working for the friend of ____ title and am the only one turning in faction in my guild. Doesn't bother me in the slightest as faction farming is perhaps the dullest most boring game mechanic I have ever seen and it turns each quest/mission into a "need to do this X more times to get the next turn in".

I have said this in a similar thread, but it fits here as well...

It would be the very first thing I would disable for my guild, but if some guilds think they need a Big Brother...

Sorry, i dont feel like supporting guilds whose only reason for existance is faction grinding. That's not how i want this game to be. I like the social aspect.

As Lishi pointed out, there is already a thread on this exact same subject - and on the front page to!!

There is no excuse for this. Even if the search function wasn't working (though it is) you have a thread right in front of you. Please read through the forum guideines. This thread is closed.
