Oni Blades

What chests drop Oni Blades? I'm on the hunt to find a perfect Oni blade for my warrior and I'm not sure where to start chest farming. Which region should I focus on, Luxon, kurzick, or the Elite missions?

You should focus on chests in areas populated with Oni. I've received Oni weapons out of:
Chests in Arborstone Cathedral (kurzick)
Chests in Raisu Palace (forbidden)
Chests in the Deep (Deep Jade)
and I'm sure many more would have them, so long as there are Oni in the area. Anyone have a more extensive list to post?

Agreed, it seems that the type of enemy directly near the chest has some kind of effect on what the chest will drop. For example on the route from breakers hollow to cavalon, a chest on the hills surrounded by Nagas I tend to get items like naga bows and naga trappings. If onis pop out right near a chest I get items like oni shroud. Same with the horrible fishy things and the chance of getting jellyfish wand. Obviously this doesn't always happen as I've also had things like platinum blades and shields drop from such chests, but it does seem enemies nearest the chests have a slight impact on what the chest will hold. Also oni's themselves can of course drop oni blades

There is a group of Oni on that run. about half of the time, there is a chest right there. I'm going to start farming that and hopefully the results will be good. If it works out, I'll post a reply saying so.

this is extremely true. when i chestrun luxon chests i'm extremely happy when there's a chest in the jade sea in the middle of nowhere because i know that oni will pop-up.
i nearly always get oni shrouds / oni daggers / oni blade when onis surround the chest i open.
if u want to get oni blades u might consider starting soloing onis... it's extremely easy if u have the correct build. as a mesmer i can take a group of 3 onis down with easy without going under 50% of my hp

Well, I don't have a mesmer so I'll mess around with my ranger and my warrior to see if I can get a working build.
