These 2 quests offer the same rewards, one for Luxon, the other for Kurzick. Both earn you 400 Faction points. The difference:

-The Jade Arena (luxon) can be done with henchies within 5 minutes.
-Duel of the Houses (Kurzick) cant be done with henchies (and I dont know what the useual time for this quest is).

Basically this means 8 luxon players with henchies can get 8*400 faction in 5 minutes. For Kurzick 8 playes would make a team and get 1*400 faction (in 5 minutes too?).

Someone may correct me, but isn't this a bit... out of balance?

duel cant be done with henchies? damn, i think i got haxxed then and the hench had an uber bug and got themselves celestial skills

I often farm Duel Of Houses with all henchies and they're bad at all.
You should use healer, protect, ritualist, devona, guardian, domination, and mage henchies to beat any of the duels.

the first time i tried the Duel quest i died numerous times horribly on my ranger, the second attempt i lured a load of wardens (well actually, they just happened to wander into range while i went to get some more tea) to kill off most of them first >.> and just finished up, making the quest a lot easier ^^;;

no, it can be done with henchies, can be quite easy, and doesnt take that long either.

also, if kurzick players make a team, they are smart enough and know how to do it *cough trapper cough* (and dont say this has been nerfed - it hasnt, it still worked, i was in the group) in less than 5 minutes. no, i think its pretty fine that way. and even if not, kurzick supply lines can be run easily, luxon cant. so if you still think its unbalanced, that balances it out. Two things - I do an entire Duel run (from zone to zone) in 2 minutes flat with a coordinated team. And, I just solo ran the luxon supply quest with my warrior, and could likely do it on my monk too.

I think the point is that it's far easier to hench it for the Luxon quest then the Kurzick quest, not that they can't both be henched and I agree. I've only entered Luxon territory now after getting enough Kurzick faction to get amber for my armor, but the quest IMO is much easier. For one thing the arena is isolated so you don't have to clear the region or fear Wardens bothering you while you're in battle. Secondly, although the Luxons have rez signets they use it at a much slower pace then I've seen on the Kurzick side who would consistenly keep their team up while Luxons seem to have a brain meltdown when it comes to rezing. Thirdly, I haven't seen the Luxons ever take down a henchie because they don't focus on one target or have that great of skill sets, not to say Luxons don't, but it seems less focused then on the Kurzick side.

And also you have that ability to use the different levels of the arena. I used projectiles from atop to lure their melee towards us totally isolating them from their healers making it easy pickings.

Not that these are huge issues or anything, but they do seem to add together and make the Luxon side a tad easier.

The nerf of the Brauer Duel ff in fact did make a big difference in my opionion. With EoE and Lively was Naiomi you could hench this from door to reward in 2 min while eating a cheesburger. Now, its not nearly as easy. You can do it with others, but it takes time getting the right mix of people togther whereas before you could grab your hench and be off. I think the supplies run is now the quickest way to ff on the kurzick side, just over 3 min a run.

Ok, I'll correct you - you're out of balance. Whether you do either quest with henchies or with 7 other people, you will get 400 faction, 2000 xp, and 150 for YOUR character. If you play with the other people, they will get the same. So it's just a matter of being able to find a group to do either one faster. Although, if you are doing it for gold, since Amber is worth more than Jadeite, you might profit more by doing the Kurzick duelist quest if they are even close on time to complete.

Last night I was in a group for the first time farming the Kurzick duelist quest, and I think, for profiteering, if you are in a group that knows how to efficiently do this quest, it is better than the Jade Arena.

However, since this assumes a group of 8 that knows what they are doing, a group of 8 doing the Luxon supply line may be able to do it quicker by enough that it might even be more profitable than even the Duel of the Houses, but it's close.
