Your favorite skill icon?

We all love our skills, but do we all like the icons that represent the skills? Some icons have a cool little picture, you just love the cute little icon on your skill bar. At the same time however, some icons look somewhat lame

Here are my favorite skill icons:

Frenzy: This picture shows the face a really angry man, who is obviously giving it all he's got on the enemy!

Backfire: This picture shows some dude with a wand being struck by massive bolts of purple lightning, obviously as a punishment for casting a spell. Really nasty. As a matter of fact, when I first suffered from Backfire, I casted a spell on purpose to see the cool purple bolts as shown on the icon, but all I got was "-127 (Backfire)" Lol

Tainted Flesh: Some really cool poisonous zombie-looking guy. totally awesome!!

Conjure Phantasm: A cute but nasty ghost-like phantom!

Mind Shock: Some dude gets owned by having a lightning bolt getting stuck into his brain! Very nasty!

Contemplation of Purity Aww... a picture of such a cute baby!




Those were my favorite icons. Now, here are are some crappy looking icons!

Sprint: This picture looks like some clumsy man who is about to trip over, it seems he cannot even lift the sword in his hand properly.

Diversion: Looks like a pictue of some person breathing. I don't see how it relates to the actual skill.

Soothing Images: This skill denies Adrenaline, but why does it show a picture of a musuclar bicep? It looks like it was supposed to be some damage buff for warriors, rather than de-buff.




So, what are your favorite skill icons, as well as your least favorite? If ArenaNet gave you the oppurtunity to design some new icons for their skills, what would be your ideas?

I like just about all of the icons for skills that relate to a pet. Ones I hate: just about all the assassin ones. Half the time, I can't even tell when they're charged.

I think mending deserves a mention...and that is strictly based on the art. look at it!

I liked the ORIGINAL icon for Holy Veil

how could you forget about skull crack? It shows a guy getting comletely owned by a fist, unfortunately this differs greatly from in game use.

I always liked Endure Pain... looks like some ape that got shot to hell but is still coming after you.

Super Gorilla Skill FTW

Love:

Shadow Strike. Basically a cool undead hand clawing the life outta your flesh.

All Necro Wells. Love the snake biting its tail - a classic symbol of life and death.

Symbiotic Bond. Love showing how the pet and its master become one under the spell.

Hate:

Mending. WTF is that spiral pattern?
Empathy. Looks like someone died and is going towards the light.
Live Vicariously. A laser beam shot through a cloud?
Strength of Honor. Looks like a Viagra ad.

Illusionary Weaponry, it just looks way cool with the purple trailing the sword. But what really finished the look of the icon is the Elite skill border.

I really like protective spirit, but that may also have something to do with it saving my ass so many times.
