The way to fix the complaints of the assassin...

It's quite simple really...

You see, what are assassin's known for, killing without being seen, correct?

Make critical strikes(the attribute, not critical hits in general) add extra dmg or give a armor penetration bonus when you hit your opponent FROM BEHIND. Honestly, most assassins kill from their opponents back, and the teleports generally put you behind your target, right? GIVE AN ATTACK BONUS OR ARMOR PENETRATION BONUS WHEN YOU HIT YOUR FOE FROM BEHIND!

Example...
For every point in critical strikes you do an extra 2 damage if target foe is struck by attack from behind.

Only Attacks or Attack skills, not spells.

This would make it cap out at a +32 per hit(2 * 16), which would end up with us doing the damage A-Net promised in the first place.

This will give the assassin a much MUCH better chance of being in groups in pve, because honestly then they can teleport in and strike a combo on their opponents back, and actually make the kill before getting out of there. Who wouldn't take someone who can teleport behind that boss and do an extra 128 damage ontop of the base damage of their combo?

This by itself would fix the complaints from people. It'd add more damage to the assassin, but ONLY when they play their role, which is to assassinate their TARGET, not take out the whole group.

This also would mess up the balance, as it's not hard for a player to merely turn around(X key FTW!). Of course, if they didn't expect the assassin to strike, then they're in for some major damage.

You already get an automatic critical hit if you strike from behind, I take advantage of that all the time with my assassin.

I like the idea of extra damage if striking from behind.

Great idea, but one problem: monsters start attacking you as soon as you aggro them, making them turn to face your direction. And if you shadow step they turn to you as soon as you're next to them. The only solution to this: add a skill where you jump over the enemy so you can attack them from behind then. This would even be cool because it seems like something assassins do.

Since when is the assassin meant to aggro the monster mob? The warriors take the aggro, the assassin takes down the casters.
