CONTEST - Create an official premade build

As most people know, part of the prize for winning the second season playoffs included the chance to work with arenanet on the new premade builds. Well thats a lot of work, so instead of us doing it all we'd like the community to help out and get the opportunity to have their names plastered all over one of those builds.

All you have to do is go to our website http://www.esoteric-warriors.com and, using our build creator, submit a build you think would work nicely as a premade. Then the community rates the various builds and we choose the winner from one of those top 5 rated builds.

Build Guidelines

* Self heals are strongly encouraged as most of these builds are used for new players in the Arenas.
* Should include a Resurrection Signet, or a Res Spell.
* Builds should be self reliant (example, no assassin combo's that require a hex and no hex's on the build).
* Include 4 tips per build in the description.
* All skills from both campaigns may be used (this includes all core, prophecies and factions skills)

Note: All builds must be received by Friday, June 30th, 11:59 GMT

Yeah drop them in public. The idea is that the community then votes on them, after which we pick one out of the top five rated.

Cool, I just registered and submitted my favorite arena build (which works pretty well in PvE too!): Wicked Blade

(best name I could come up with on short notice and "Ghull's badass degen IW build" doesn't sound like it'd fit with ANet's naming conventions)

I hope I win! Woot!

The reference to you will always be included, so yeah it doesn't have to be in the build name itself. A good idea would be to post a link to your build so you can get people on the forum to vote for you

I posted up the main heal build I run on my Monk/X, with modifications noted in the description that work for some types of PvP (definitely not all). I generally don't even bother with the hex removal during PvE and instead carry around a cap sig for whatever secondary class I'm trying to cap for, or switch my secondary and bring along a skill/spell to suit the area (stance for defence, spinal shivers for my CC wand, etc., and so on). I find with DK and HB the hexes aren't such a big deal in PvE, and my play style generally warrants me the comfort of not running out of energy or losing teammates.

It might be too hard to play for a prebuild, its rather finicky. But IMO this mesmer build has the right balance of shutdown, snares, and self heals. And I haven't seen anyone else yet use mantra of recovery with shadow arts spells - 10sec duration, 10sec recharge on caltrops is very fun, as is 4sec duration 4sec recharge on shadow refuge.

This is great. I've seen some pretty nice builds on this site and a few very nice submissions. I look forward to seeing more and I'll keep posting my own. It's pretty fun to try to make sure they all have very forgiving learning curves and yet don't just get tooled by the first experienced player they run into.

Keep it up

Hmmm... yeah, but it doesn't have any damage-dealing capability. The intended role is support?

the escape thumper is nice, thats just the sort of premade that new players need

plz don't submit anything with frenzy, ether prodigy, martyr or anything that could potentially hurt a lot, they need some understanding of how it works

dont think too much of the Me/W IW with no cover enchantments

EDIT: heres mine http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/guildwars/build-580.html

Neither do healing monks or boon prots, and random arena teams win with those all the time.

The build has large amounts of virtual damage. Virtual as in it shows by monks healing less since they don't have WoH or whatnot, or snaring enemies that flee your warriors so that they take more damage.

You vote for builds by going to the build list and rating builds.

What, you don't think new players are interested in learning how to play with some risk involved? C'mon, be a man! You're not learning if you're not struggling!

If you like builds that are unique and effective at what they do, here's the one I submitted:

The Resilient Disrupter

It is VERY tough to take down by many other builds out there, but it excels at keeping two enemies under control. The bonus is that it serves as a secondary healer and a hard rezzer. Check it out, I think you'll enjoy playing it as much as I have.

What the heck... here's a couple Sin builds I like.

http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/guildwars/build-696.html

This is a simple PvE A/N build that takes advantage of AoE scatter for survivability.

http://www.curse-gaming.com/en/guildwars/build-698.html

Here's by 12v12 Shroud build... will kill any squishy fast. Weakness is if they have CoP, but you can even get lucky on that.

Enjoy!

I don't know if you guys are looking for the builds that are extremely popular in GvG/HA right now. Is submitting a shock axe warrior or a bunny thumper or yet another boon prot all that interesting for the sake of this contest?

Instead, I decided on submitting a build that is designed to be used in RA. The majority of players that actually use premades will be using them in RA anyway. Once they get to the stage where they want to do GvG/HA, they have other resources to help them find good builds for these places. Also, I wanted to try to make a build that isn't all that common, something that's different but still effective. I also wanted to make a build that allows the possibility of improving a player's PvP skill, so touch rangers are out.

So without further ado, I present the Melandru's Assault Beastmaster. It probably won't win any popularity contest, which is a shame 'cause I think it's a cool, different, effective build.
