If he put them on it himself, he just lost a lot of money as it never increases the value by more than what you paid for the mods. Especially on a shadowblade...

Without mods you'd be looking at 15~20k for the blade.

Unless he was very fortunate, the mods would have cost more than ~25k they have added to the value of the blade
