Monster Weaknesses
unknown1
I've been wondering this for a while and has recently been brought up by lansid_drakken in the gw.wiki section of this forum. I was thinking of creating a list of weakness here.
Afflicted - None i think -_- (so use sundering) - all elemental dmg is the same
Wardens - same as above
Giants - Fire
Undead - Fire/Holy
Ice Golem - Fire
Plants - Fire
Gargoyles - Cold
Devourers - Cold

Wouldn't that be depending on the boss class? for instance, warrior bosses are weak to elemental damage just like warriors are? and ranger bosses have + armor against elemental. fire eles woudl be weak against all but fire damage.. and.. I dunno... I honestly haven't tested this.
Arkantos
Well im guessing afflicted is weak against holy damage. Also heard somewhere avicara are weak against shocking. Also guessing oni are weak against holy dmg. Pretty sure stone enemies in the forest are weak against water.

However, certain damage is known to cause double damage against certain types of enemies (in chapter 1 and chapter 2). Try using a fire spell/sword against a plant type monster or a icy monster and you'll see you do much more damage then against say, a troll at the same level.

well u can still tell even if one has mroe armor if u use all the attacks and see the dmg output

the only thing with mad weakness is undead vs holy.. that i know of... and the obvious -> ice golems vs fire is a given. unless you've never went outside?
Tryll
Undead are pretty weak against Fire dmg too I've noticed, not as much as Fire vs plants, mind you.

Everybody knows about Fire Imps and Titans are weak against water. I found a type of Warden which its weak against water too but I dont remember which one.
Dunno but it looks like Blessed Griffons are weak against Lightning too.

Gargoyles and Devourers take heavy damage from cold. (I one-shotted 3 Devourers with a single level 10 Death Swarm )

Charr are weak against water too (Hate so much)
Just a thought about the thread above
If stone monsters takes hvy dmg against waters, did the guardians temple and Stone Golems in Arborstone have the same thing?
Edit
You forget Titan and Fire Imps in your list, Unknown1

Stone Summit have a real aversion to shocking, as do Tengu/Avicara. The exceptions being rangers, but the tradeoff on extra damage on the Summit Carvers and casters outweighs the reduced damage to the rangers.
Ettins to fire.
Trolls to fire as well. They aslo have a strong resistance to slashing damage.

I realized when I brought my Ritualist to LA that the undead creatures (dont remember the names, you know the ones in the swamp ) are VERY vulnerable to lightning. Did 195 dmg on one with Gaze from Beyond.

Wind Riders are vunerable to lightning damage. Was doing Aurora Glade mission and I used lightning strike and it halved their health in one shot.

I tested Holy dmg against afflicted.... and nop, they aren't undead (Except when warriors use frenzy but this is another thing)
Celestials has no elemental resistances and weaknesses.

Thanks to the 25% AP everything is weak to air spells XD. But basic lightning dmg is another matter.

Undead are also weak against Blunt (Hammer) damage.
Plants also take added damage from Slashing damage
Stone creatures (e.g. Aborstone Guardians) take double damage from cold, and take less damage from piercing it seems. Also take more damage from Blunt.

Awesome info everyone, and again thank you unknown1 for making it happen ^_^
I have heard the mantids are weak vs. earth, can anyone confirm? (I'm usually busy as of late and haven't had a lot of time to test damages vs. things in "somewhat controled testing environments") I'm working on snagging up various weapon mods and clean weapons to throw onto em to test the dmg output. I'll also check into the holy/light shadow/dark resistance/weaknesses for things too....
I do know undead are resistant vs. cold

I'm sure i read somewhere that Afflicted are weak to Earth damage, haven't been able to find an earth mod to try it out though.

I've heard that shelled creatures (Devourers, etc) are weak against blunt damage.
Also, surprisingly enough, the time I experimented it seemed that Mahgo Hydras are more vulnerable to fire than slashing, although I think cold was an even better choice.

Well, fire monster are weak against cold anyway. Insect type are resistant against cold anyway. I tried against a Devorer in the desert and the max I did is like 42 with deep freeze.
IllusiveMind
In the manual says that "The Afflicted" are animal, human/plant, so... pruning mod anyone?

bumpity bump for those who missed this *and could use the info for the goodies they snagged the past chest farming weekend*
