Anet should make a guild for new people just like in planetside, when you create a new character, that character is put in a clan for new people. remove 100 player limit for that guild, this way alot of people can get into guild. It would be very helpful to new people.

Just down the road.

For a start, this should be in Suggestions.

I also just... don't see how it would improve thingd for anybody. We'd have a pool of the inexperienced, all not knowing what to do and asking for help from other people who don't know what to do. Silly.

LOL Call it the Welfare & Food Stamps Guild, and newbies can be in it for up to 6 months or a certain level. Once a week they can get in line in Ascalon City or Shing Jea Monastery and collect an amount of gold which is directly related to their character's level - higher level, less "government assistance".

First, telling someone that doesnt know what they are doing to tell someone what to do accomplishes nothing. Another thing is I wouldnt want to come into the game thinking guilds are a massive zerg fest.

i think it is a very good idea! It worked very well in EVE Online.
Newbs will learn from eachother much better than some guy just running them to droks and giving greens for free. Besides it doesn't have to be just one huge guild. Newbs guild can be randomly generated to hold no more than 100 people. If that is too much, we can just have ~5 newb guilds with new players randomly assigned to one.

You guys also left out another point besides that of newbs can't really help newbs, and that is the level of discrimination that is in the game. By having newbie guilds, you are conveniently labeling these poor lambs to be scorned and avoided by the experienced community at large. Try getting into a HA group with a newbie guild tag and see how badly you will be shut out, its already plenty ridiculous for a new player without any fame to get into a group with any hope of winning, try doing that when you have both no fame and a guild tag telling others you are a newbie who is probably clueless and would be useless in a HA group.

It might help that they can form groups within the guilds themselves, but again, newbies can’t really help newbies, and it will just be a bad case of lambs to the slaughter. PVE this idea might help, but PVP wise, it’s a really really bad idea. The fastest way to learn in PVP is from the more experienced players, although you might improve playing with other newbies, you pick up more bad habits than good ones, and the learning curve is naturally retarded because of everyone’s inexperience.

The only way the idea might work is if there are permanent experienced players assigned to these newbie guilds as “teachers and educators”, but then again, who would want to do such a thankless job? Might as well just start your own guild if you are going to be training a bunch of newbs anyway.
