wtf is up with the infuse health spell
Elasto Plast
i was holding the halls last night with my usual group and i can't help but notice the infuse health spell is totally screwed up.... i would go to infuse someone, they wouldn't healed but my health would drop as if the spell worked.... anyone else encountering this problem as well?

Read the description.

i think he means that he is having a glitch in a skill where his health drops but the ally which he targets is not healed... if that is the case then i have not ran into a similar case myself... though i have been getting error7s like 3x a day making it nearly impossible for me to gvg... i hope these errors stop soon because i almost never error7
Elasto Plast
ya... basically sometimes it's not healing the ally but your health still drops
Taurus
Ive got that sometimes with guardian and RoF as a boon prot, totally noticeable, seems something like packet loss.

I think that the health sacrafice is done at the beginning of the spell (much like a necromancer sacrafice spell) and that the healing is done at the end. I've had it happen to me in the past where I press infuse on an ally and the ally dies and I still had lost half my health. I've also observed it in the early part of post searing with the char healers where they go to infuse a char that was just killed and they are conveniently now at half health. That 1/4 second cast time is non-trivial.

or a team just did a lot of dmg at the same time as ur infuse making it appear u did nothing

You are not the only one who feels this way.

1. It's a bug.
2. You're infusing the wrong person without noticing it(I doubt that you're doing this, so we can rule this out I guess).
3. The enemy does lotsa dmg at the same time.
I'm not sure, but I think the health sacrifice is done at the end of Infuse, not at the beginning. Because some times I've interrupted Infuse with pure luck, and the Monk didn't lose any extra health.

I've also noticed this kind of thing happening through regular heals from time to time. I go to heal a warrior that's at about half health or less, cast WoH on him, nothing... cast orison on him, nothing... cast heal other and bam, healed finally.
I'm starting to think that if the person is experiencing heavy packet loss or lagging out, that the heal spells won't work all the time. Unless the guy I was healing had over 1000 health or something.

^Endure Pain + Defy pain = 1000+ health..
Just Asking?
BTW i had the same experience.. Infuse nothing happened.:S

Additionally, it's possible that Infuse is being interrupted or canceled (from the target dying, as previously mentioned). It's very rare, but certainly possible for Infuse to be interrupted (or Shamed).
JR
It's bugged.

Anyone care to run a test with Shame? Actually Ill see if I can do it in a bit.
Tested it with Shame. Did not lose health on cast, cast failed, target was not healed.

It's even worse when your lagging, the no recharge is a big no no.

I've had this happen a few times - i've infused and my health has dropped, but the spike target has died anyway with no signs of being healed. I've asked the rest of my team at the time and they say no-one got a sudden blue figure above their head, so i wasn't infusing the wrong guy.
I always assumed that it was because the health loss triggered at the start, and the heal for the person triggered at the end, and in the 1/4 of a second between those two things the person i was trying to infuse died, and so the spell didn't get a chance to heal them even through it had already taken my health.
However, that does sound a bit implausible...maybe it is a bug?

Definately bugged. Been having similar problems (though rarely) with my boon prot's RoF's and Gaurdian's. At first I thought i was simply that they were potentially taking extensive dmg at the same time I was casting my spells, and thereby canceling out the effect, but as it continued my suspicions grew. I finally noticed that sure enough the target I was healing wasn't even being attacked at the moment the heal was being cast. Perhaps it could be due to lag.

Yeah, it's a bug. If you infuse near the end of a spike (ie when the person is about to die) the infuse won't register, and you lose life. People are always talking about "unregistering infuses" - gets on my tits

Phoenix Arrows
Or...there could be a new 1337 anti-Infuse skill that no one has seen =O j/k
I've seen it quite a bit myself. I use RoF on myself, nothing happens. Tried it on an ally, nothing. So annoying ><" especially when that one heal could mean the different of life or death in a high-ranked battle.

Yep, confirmed that there is a bug with healing spells in general. Not just infuse, though infuse tends to get a lot of attention due to it showing a quite noticeable drop in health.
The bug itself seems to be very rare but it can affect every and all spells with a healing effect.

I only noticed this bug when I started using a sup rune at the start to get Divine boon up and then switch to a minor rune, could this be the reason?
gabrial heart
I've never had that bug unless it was combo'd with either an endure/defy pain, demonic flesh, the monk ench (cant think of the name right now), or the ranger spirit dying all of which boosts your health, dropping out leaving the person a walking corpse for up to a minute, with no way to heal back.
It's always wierd to toss breeze on a warrior when endure kicks out and they can take all the damage in the world and all the healing in the world and still drop like a fly after a few seconds or up to a minute. It's been that way though since i started playing gw, so i dunno.
