Idle Kick Time

Like many others, I'm tired of people leeching faction away from other in the 12v12 battles at Fort Aspenwood. People enter a battle and just sit idle on the field while others fight to earn their faction. At the end of the battle, these idlers get the faction points that others have rightfully earned. Anet needs to fix this by putting an idle timer on the Aspenwood battles. The could set it for 2 minutes and if that person sits idle for that set amount of time they are kicked, therefore earning no free faction.

Not really, those parasites are going to find a way to move around each minute, then.

Although, there should be a way to stop all these leechers, from doing their bidding.

Well maybe they could make an attack counter or something. You have to hit your enemies a certain amount of times in order to earn your faction. If they still go idle at least this will make it look like their doing something useful and then add the idle timer on top of that.

Like you said there has to be a way to stop them from leeching

That could work, but then you have to take classes such as Monks into consideration. I suppose you could to just always make your monk attack while you're healing, but I find that whenever I monk in Fort Aspenwood or in Alliance Battles (or any PvP place, really) I spend more time running around and hardly ever attacking, unless I'm not getting attacked (which is generally quite rare =P).

Then you could argue for a skill-usage counter...but then the idle person could just sit there spamming an enchantment...I dunno, it's a very complicated issue.

I don't like the attack/skill/spell counter Idea, what about the more passive classes like Restoration Spirit Rits and Bonders?

I say eliminate alliance faction gained by the losing side. That might give people a little more incentive to play.

No, that gives more people the incentive to ragequit when they start to lose a bit.

eek!!
it encourages ragequitting
why even rid the losing side from getting factions?
wouldn't it not worth your time for the regular folks and the leechers?
the leechers will always be there

As I mentioned in another thread one time...

Each side should start in opposing 'bases' as they do now. Currently once the luxons leave their base, they can't get back. I think the Kurzicks should also do this to get into the battlegrounds. I think you shouldn't be able to gain faction unless you leave this area. Of course, once you do, you're in the 'danger zone' and you'll be at risk of dying if you sit there.

Next I think that if you die, there should be 'ressurrect self' button appear after the time has ticked down. If you're idle, obviously you're not going to be around to press it.

Now, two things can happen here. Either they can just sit there dead for 5 minutes and stay dead until the end, and gain no faction because they're dead, OR an idle timer can be added so that if you stay dead for a certain amount of time (say 90 seconds?) you get removed from the battle.
I think the second option works best, because if you have to check back every 90 seconds, why not just play the mission?

Downsides: How do you work out those that died right at the end as being different to those that stayed dead the entire thing?

Well, that down side is why I think you should 'idle out' if you stay dead for 50-90 seconds.

since they made a program to put themselves into the battles, they can easily make a similar program to push this ressurect button.
