Characters Talking
Spoony
Apologies, if i haven't noticed that in the index, if it was there.
I could not use search, was disabled.
My idea is short, but it might be a pain for anet to do it. Despite that, i still dare to post it ( )
Make the characters and npc's mouth's move when they are speaking, in cinematics, and when henchmen comment, and when you try to persuade ghostly to follow you, etc.

It has been mentioned before ..... somewhere.
Argument against is that the game is played in many languages and it would not be possible to sync mouth movement properly with all languages.

Just opening and closing their mouths with no real lip motions is better than nothing. Just holding their mouths open the whole time they're speaking is better than nothing.

Oh and by the way...the voiceovers are TERRIBLE. Just listen to Togo. He has so clearly been castrated it's annoying. I simply have to turn off my sound whenever there is a cutscene and someone won't skip it, just because the voiceovers are awful....*sigh* I still love Factions though, contrary to what other people say when they find one minor flaw

The character's don't have to open their mouths cause they are always practicing their ventrioquist routine.

Lepton, you're critisizing the way people talk in cinematics, thats a diffrent topic. Make one, if you feel like it, but i think there was many people arguing in that matter.:P

Spoony,
Actually what Lepton did was called "an asside." He initially started on topic, then when his piece was said, mentioned something that was semi-related. Its a way of saying your opinion without thread-hijacking.
Another way is this, starting out with something semi-off topic and then ending on topic.
My opinion on the matter is they are fine as is. I really don't watch their mouths enough with the explicit intrest of watching them move. If ANet wants to tackle making X amounts of variations to cover Y languages so they all move in sync, go for it, but its not necissary to the flow of the game.

Yeah it does look nice, the characters are a lot more involved and there's a larger range of voices now, which is much better aswell, they suit the players better :P
