It is not worth it when you compare to the energy elites (nothing is).

Other than that, 2 shots combining with knockdown can really make this a quick killer.

This is my favourite part though

Double Dragon, Elite
For two seconds, foes adjacent to this location are struck for 7...91 fire damage each second. This spell causes Exhaustion.

Phoenix, Normal
A fiery phoenix rises at your location, striking adjacent foes for 7...91 fire damage, and flies out to your target, exploding on impact. This explosion strikes for an additional 15...75 fire damage.

Notice anything? Adjacent foes... yup, 2 hits... yup. Slightly more damage on Dragon? Big whoop...

For a start Phoenix has the ability to hit 2 lots of targets, been those adjacent to you and those adjacent to the target. Not to mention its not elite. The only bonus Double Dragon has is that it casts a lot faster. Of course thats hardly a benefit when you consider your still standing next to the target and wasting your elite slot.

The one Casey Squid:

Double Dragon has lots of fatal combos to a target that doesn't move. If it weren't elite, Glyph of Renewal{E} - Double Dragon - Mighty Blow - Double Dragon is an example of an overpowered combo. There are several more.

Ultimately I agree with You and Evilsod, I tried DD once in a few situations and didn't really impress me either. I think making it nonelite, keeping the exhaustion, and lowering the dmg about 15-20% would be a better balance.

~HI Could you explain why Ele's should invest in Hammer mastery and pick Mighty Blow, or warriors invest in Fire Magic?

Many of the new elites are weak :/ I hope after the playoffs they do a MAJOR skill review and buff all the weak new and old ones. And nerf some.

Ubar combo:
Backbreaker + Double Dragon + Crushing Blow!

Much, much better than Hamstorm

*waits for comments about BB and DD both being elite* >_>

More seriously, it's spaced far enough apart in triggers to not send AI running away. That's a plus if you're farming. Though you can solo the Zaishen anyway, it's still fun to take 2 Double Dragon ele's into the Zaishen Challenge against the IWAY wars. Arcane Echo + Arcane Mimicry, and the wars go down rather quickly.

However, outside of that? Never really though much of it. I don't much like Flame Burst in PvE for a rather important reason, and Double Dragon is dead to me for just that reason.

hm. 15 second recharge, increase the damage, maybe make it nearby (or whichever is 1 step above Adjacent) and it might be worth it. 15 energy, 30 second recharge just doesn't cut it.

well, if you can coordinate a knockdown with a teammate, and then DD with some adrenline mixed in, it could prove problematic for the other team.

Yanman.be:

Ele with a hammer...Takes 0 points in hammer mastery to get the knockdown with mighty blow. Just an example of overpowered combos if DD weren't elite. Earth Shaker {E} is a nice hammer skill for ele, but req is 5 hammer.

The best 4 man team I've ever played on (12v12) was W/E, W/E, E/W, Mo/E; and the Ele had a hammer with 15-16 earth magic. The point is to get Earth Shaker{E} as the elite and make use of Aftershock/Crystal Wave/Teinais Crystals. The rest of the build is "To the Limit", "Watch Yourself", Armor of Earth, and Earth Attunement. 15-16 Earth, Rest Tactics and Energy Storage, and Earth Shaker{E} just begins the pain.

doubledragon is in fact just a Double flameburst with exhaustion

Which (with an attunement) CAN be spammed in combination with arcane echo or echo

Buff this elite now!!

It has marginal use in Alliance Battles where the NPCs that are too stupid to avoid the second hit have normal armor levels so you can take them out quickly and even then Star Burst is usually good enough and is a lot more useful against targets that aren't retarded.
