Hello again.

I need some help on how to creat a connection...I don't know have any pictures on what I'm talking about so I'll try to describe it to the best of my ability.

I'm currently getting online everyday with a annoying software that comes with a bunch of popus from the company where I got my DSL box thingy, and I hate it obviously.

I just came online yesterday by using some build in windows thingy, that's the thing I'm trying to find.

It has a picture of a computer and a globe on the top, and below are 2 boxes where you can fill out your Username or Address and the second one is for filling out the password, on the bottom are 2 clickies, one is connect and one is cancel.

If anyone knows how I can get that icon into my desktop and clicking it so I can fill out my address and password then come online, em....if it's ok, kindly provide a step by step guide on how to do it.

Thanks!

*Edit* : I don't really have a clue of what I'm talking about except for the part about a window that I can fill out my username and password with.

I believe what you are describing is for dial-up, however, you can set up your connection for DSL to prompt you for a username and password, but I think you have a direct connection to the internet, not requiring that. Unless their DHCP server requires some kind of log on authentication.

In the control panel, double-click on network connections, and right click the one active, go to properties, then put a check mark next to "show icon in notification area when connected" unless it's already checked. and that should show you whether or not you're already connected, which you should be if it's DSL. In the network connections screen you can also set up a new connection, and enable it to prompt for a username and password, I might be incorrect about that though.

What ISP software are you using to connect with? What's the company name, or their web site address?
