just out of interest if all of you chest runners could post

chests opened:golds identified

plz only ppl who identify the golds they get from chest runs..so if u have cheated by buying unid dont post

SS are good if u can/ stops the BS

so far my ratio is 1:3 gold

but brought it upto 1:2 because I also id gold drops
58 gold to 114 chests (remember gold drops from foes helped here)

apparently someone has king of big deal and one of titles was lvl 5 chest opening but they wouldnt show it.

meh cant work this out which sucks as i pay people aswell to let me id stuff >.< got 125 id's and 120 chests i think lol

but at say ember out of all chests opened (5 i think) i would get 1 maybe 2 (kinda uncommon) a run.

port sledge i got 1 sometimes 2 out of 3 chests but the drops sucked. the 2/3 was kinda common aswell

at drok and surrounding area bar ice golem section i got out of 5 chests 1/2 golds.

ice floe/thk area maybe 1 or 2 tops a run not sure out of how many

i really should try my old school area as i made way way more than i ever spent there.

Ratio is about 1G:2-3P so far for me. There's couple spots where I can almost always expect to have better gold drop ratio & quality but anti-chest code or similar pops up after first run.

So far 2140 chests opened, 732 gold ones.

fay has a very strong point, canthan chests, for one, don't count towards treasure hunter but they surely do drop golds.

that's good but highly unlikely lol
50 50 is good but that's not actually normal for anyone to get a good ratio like that unless you're opening chests that require 1.5k keys which have better gold drop rates then the 600gp ones

I would give you my exact numbers but I think the data is off because I've done runs with groups and if they open it first and it's grape then obviously I'm not opening it. And of course if somebody else opens it it's gold then yeah I'm opening it for sure.

I definately think there is anti-farm code with chests.

I know when doing solo chest runs the other day I got like 10 grapes in a row so I figured my luck couldn't be that bad. That was like 3 zones-10 grapes, so I decided to go do a mission. I did Raishu's Palace and then killed Shiro too. First run I did after that yielded a 15/-5 Runic Axe Req. 8 from the first chest I opened. For the next few runs the chests were about 50/50 gold/purple.

I'm not an avid chest farmer, but I also haven't bought keys for anything below Cavalon and HzH since Factions came out. I also don't buy rares to ID them.

According to the Title screen I've opened 169 high end chests, and ID'd 103 rare items on my main toon.. so I suppose I have a better than 1:2 ratio. Adding up total for all characters, I actually end up with the same number (1 gold for every 1.6 chests). The Fiance has opened 618 and ID'd 268 on his main, which is slightly better than 1:3.

Unfortunately the items we get are usually crap, so this ratio business does no good for us.

1:1 is very easy if you always wait for someone else in the group to check the chest!

as for this anti-chest code thingy ive noticed that the gold drop does decrease after maybe 10 runs, still get golds but they tend to be fairly crap things like single mod caster items or golds with no dmg mods

some knowlage:
chests opened 3413
golds dropped 1328

there is no such thing as an antifarm for chests. its absolutly normal hitting 20purple drops in a row. So far out of my experience gold drops come in a burst. row purple followed by row gold.

If your wanting to chest hunt for mony making get a party of a size higher then 5, that way you limit the purple drops by only opening the golds. I got some friends who got a gold rate of 60% cause only running in partys larger then 5 members.

What not to do when chest running:
expect 15>50 req8 drops cause they drop 1 in 500 if lucky
not get pissed about the amouth of purple you make.
dont buy keys for 600each but for 480 from a town holding friend.

Adept Treasure Hunter - Your character has opened 250 high-end chests.
Advanced Treasure Hunter - Your character has opened 550 high-end
chests.
Expert Treasure Hunter - Your character has opened 1200 high-end chests.
Elite Treasure Hunter - Your character has opened 2500 high-end chests.
Master Treasure Hunter - Your character has opened 5000 high-end chests.

Seeker of Wisdom - 100 rare items identified.

I did a chest run with 100 keys. 7 were gold. So my ratio is 93:7. 7% gold. Thats the only time i kept track of it. I quit running chests now because of my ultra-low chance of a gold.

you can have a guarantee 100% if you alway wait for someone else to open the chest 1st but that method IMO is crap since you're not exactly helping yourself much and just slowing down the rate that you're able to achieve the treasure hunter title
which is an extremely slow process for ppl get a gold in a chest so they u can use a key

bah who cares if you actually try to trick ppl into opening chests thats load of garbage

also seems the average gold to purple ratio is the same 1:3

i would say it is about 1:3, but the golds i get are usually very bad, so really the ratio of decent stuff for me is usually 1: 20 course when i say good, i mean just not flat out junk

Why even bother opening the chests? I've yet to get anything I can sell for more than the price of the key itself. Now whenever a key drops (I never buy them) I just sell it to the merchant. I get more gold in the long run that way.

BTW the update that was released when faction have been released that enhance the stats of gold items drop from chests has been nerfed stealthly i guess...me and friends are not getting single gold item can be used at least, always crappy stats.
