i'm wondering what happened with the old armors update? old fow/15k pyro/aero/et cetera sets are complete crap compare to post-factions sets, old rogue armor still has this energy penalty... why we have to be penalized for being long-time clients? it's been few weeks and still there was no armor update....

Maybe the developers are currently occupied with something else? Who knows.

It will come eventually.

I don't really get it either... I ended up salvaging my old 15k armor already and getting a new 15k set with the better stats. It just bugs me to wait for something for so long, and realize it may never happen. So, I'm out of 60k plus materials and rune costs... but at least I got to upgrade, expensively.

"Realize it may never happen." Dead wrong. It has been stated many times that they are working on it. I would expect it would be done within the month at the latest. A long time to wait, I know, especially for a very competitive PvP player or a warrior.

Honestly though, for a lot of casting professions, it isn't a huge disadvantage, especially for eles, to have the old "worthless" armor, especially for PvE. Eles in particular, if you really NEED that +10 armor verses all elemental damage so badly to survive in PvE, learn to stay in the back of the group and let the tank handle aggro. I used collector armor the whole time with my ele (over 1 mill exp) with no armor bonus, and was fine in PvE. And when factions came out I just got the archmage set.

It's coming soon.

After auction houses, reconnects, guild storage, etc.

Seriously, accept that A-net has a different opinion of the word soon to the rest of the English speaking world.

This must be the gazillions times that this had been made into a topic.

We must make a gazillion threads of telling people to look for similar topic first.

Please people... help yourself a bit.

I wish the search feature here is more stable.

wow, someone salvaged a set of 15k then bought the same 15k over again? that's pretty sad in my book. Considering how long it can take to earn 15k armor, it seems pretty silly since the update will likely come anytime.

Heh, ya well, what can I say, I'm impatient when it comes to some things. Dealing with soon, anytime now, sometime, maybe, all have one thing in common for me.

I salvaged mine too. with the serious lack of storage I wasnt able to keep the 15k glads and get the 15k kurzick. Making 15k isnt that hard sell a couple of wanted greens a decent gold or two and your set. What really did make me mad though was the sudden change on sundering mods so much for victos axe.. still bothers me I had to let it go.

If you're playing in high end PVP willingly handicapping yourself by using inferior equipment is dumb. Currently pre update armour is inferior.

Which type of armor was it that you salvaged? What armor stat could possibly be soooo much better than the previous one that you can't do without? And anyway if I had a 15k set and I did need the new stat I think I would just craft a cheap 1.5k set to keep around until they update. You prolly wouldn't need to fill up 4 slots to do it either, just two perhaps. For practicality's sake you could probably do fine with just the chest and legs.

Well, if you're playing in high end PVP then you probably have dedicated PvP slot. I try and use my PvEs when I can because it's nice having pwn multiple armor and pwn mass weapons but if you really are a hardcore PvPer it's impracticle not to have a PvP slot for specialized builds.

Edit: I observed the power of post merge.

At the top end it's a handicap not to use a PVE character. As you say, armour swaps etc. Either way, the only way to come out with a non-inferior character was to bite the bullet and buy a new set of armour.

Well, that's really quite irrelevant on what type of stat I wasn't able to "live" with. The point of it was the wait for the upgrader guy to show up somewhere, waited, didn't happen. Answeres as to when were indefinite, and still are, so I made a choice, and did what I did. End of story.

Ya I know but you could just buy 1.5k and keep that until you get your old armor updated. I dunno it's prolly just that I don't have that much cash laying around to just dump and reload 15k sets O.o

I'm sure that's the way sensible people would do it.

Just buy a 1.5 set and don't splurge on 15 o.o

Bah, rich folk.

And a superior vigor maybe? It would be cheaper to salvage my old ascalon boots and buy another 15k set rather than leave them in the hope of upgrading and but a superior vigor and a 1.5k set.

Luckily I so rarely play warrior that I haven't bothered to do it, but I did so for my monk.

I dunno it's prolly just that I don't have that much cash laying around to just buy a bunch of sup vigors for the 15k armors I barely had time to get :P :P Ok ok I guess your sup vigor story checks out. But I truly cannot relate to such a thing

What I don't understand how a situation like this has come to be in the first place. You'd think the items would be upgraded automatically when the Canthan counterparts appeared, or the upgrade NPC would be available right away.

Well, I don't have any of the 'affected' armor so I don't really care, but it's just odd. Didn't they think of the old armors until someone pointed it out after launch? :P
