Has anyone else noticed how pathetic the green drop rate in Cantha is?

I'll give you my example. My Minion Master guildie has been trying to get the Triple 20 Death Staff green. The boss is Ghial the Bone Dancer, the guy you get Flesh Golem off of. Anyway, we found a quick route to him, going from the Marketplace to the Skyway. We're running a 4 man group (currently only using the Monk hench since we dont have a human monk online most times). He has stated to me, that before we started he had done this run over 30 times. I've done it atleast 7 times with him.

Not once in all of that time has the green dropped for anyone.

Nearly 40 runs and not one green drop? Is this common? I know in Tyria we would have gotten alot of drops by this point.

As bosses are "farmed" for greens the drop rate lowers. Since this is a big ticket item and a really good death staff to boot, you're kinda stuck dealing with it being farmed out.

We've done it with a touch ranger running to him to even see if he's holding it before we fight there and if you bring a hench, you're going to lower the drop rate even more.

Yes, greens drop less in cantha.
That is probably because people are greedy and farm for them until they are worth like 500g

I take it that if they are, it has a chance to drop, and if they aren't, it doesn't?

After Factions all the times i have seen a boss holding the green he had drop it.
Now i think they are allways holding the item and only sometimes drop.

As many people have stated before in various threads, now bosses always have their green weapon equipped blah blah, theres a few exceptions but thats the gist.

And yes i have noticed that the green drop rate sucks, the bosses hardly ever drop greens any more, even when soloed. pfft, its better than completing the game for the biollionth time. At least while farming, ONCE in a while you may get something interesting happen... :|

yet again. gg anet

I have been solo farming Ghial all weekend 30+ runs about 15 minutes each, got a the staff to drop on the first run, and that was the only drop I got. I have pulled 3 gold items from fighting and 6 more from chests, so it's been a breakeven so far.

For the record the boss doesnt always have to hold the green to drop it. Plenty of times the bosses i farmed dropped the green while spawning with a different weapon.

Strongroot Tanglebranch (outside Unwaking Waters (Kurzick)) is an exception. If you see the monster is carrying a shield at it's left upper limb. The drop is 100% provided there's isnt any henchies around. I soloed him using 55 monk build and i have gotten 6 shields so far (for the past 5days). I stopped once i got the shield and wait for another day to go again. I have too many Shelters now.... so hard to sell........sigh

As for other bosses, , they just being cheap~ showing off the green but not dropping it for you.

Strongroot is kinda generous to me

PvE is the Metagame

If you kill any boss again and again he will stop dropping stuff.
You have to wait 5 minutes or more after each kill, go to town or somewhere else and waaaait, thats it.

Yeah, Strongroot Tanglebranch is the one i was referring to (and have in various other threads). Basically Anthropomorphic bosses will 100% drop it provided they are holding it on one of their "limbs", i.e. Dragon Plants. On the other hand, if they are not holding the item, the still could drop it, but not necessarily. If the boss is anphropomorphic (human-like) then he/she will always hold the item, but not necessarily drop it.

Yeah, back to the topic. In SF, with an all human party, the bosses practically always drop greens. In cantha, the chances are horribly small.

Fix it please, Anet!

I've noticed the green drop rate in Cantha is much lower than in Tyria. I've been careful not to over-farm any one boss. Typically I rotate through a selection of 5-6 bosses I can farm so I don't hit any anti farming code. I've had about 6 greens drop for me over the period of 3 weeks and I've solo'd various bosses at least a 200 times combined.

The one that gives me the most grief is Cultist Rajazan. That dude has only dropped once for me. Stingy little guy...

I just think some ppl has had bad luck
im putting my bosses loot so ppl can see that they still drop, and good.
last week greens I have gotten solo:

razajan's fervor: 5 times [farmed it like 40 times]
jacqui : 3 times [killed him 6 times]
reefclaw: 1 time [killed him like 15 times]
ironclaw: 1 time [killed him once]
wing's axe: 1 time [kiled him 5 times]
merki the reaver: 1 time [killed him like 8 times]
geoffer's bulwark: 1 time [killed him like 20 times]
sskai's sword: 5 times [killed him lke 25 times]
stonereaper: 2 times [killed him like 15 times]
milthuran's staff: 3 times [killed him around 30]

as you can see, greens drop, and I dont have a need to keep farming, i got most weapons i want for my warrior, so the only thing I can say is:

keep killing, cycle bosses, and dont farm more than 2 hours in a row

Dont blame anet, blame people that used to live, eat and sleep in SF, or ppl that have farmed like 135x a boss in cantha if u know any

...wouldn't u like 2 know...

In Tyria, every time I joined a Queen Farming group I would get a Kephket's Refuge, or someone in my group would, sometimes two people. Now, in factions, I like to make some quick money farming easy Shing Jea greens that i can get away with selling for 5k. I can go out and kill the boss quickly, but I can do this 30 times before I actually get a green. Kinda frustrating.
