i've been told that i should salvage it but i can't risc ending with 18 wood planks and maby someone would like to buy it

Salvage...if you're gonna sell it as is, what the buyer is going to end up doing is salvage it anyway. So, basically, the buyer is paying to assume the risk of losing the mods while salvaging. So if you were to sell it, I'd expect somewhere around 2k for it.
