loading takes forever

First I do have dialup. I've played GW for a year w/o any problems loading. It may take a little longer when going to a zone I've never been to, but other than that my dial up has worked fine.

This weekend I had to restore my computer back to factory fresh. The day before yesterday GW was running absolutely fine. The first thing I did was reinstall GW. I had to download everything again on 56k which was fine I just left it overnight.

I logged in just fine, and picked up where I left off, except loading is taking forever. Now when I zone, even if it is to a zone I have been to before, it has to download several files and takes a long time. It will say downloading like 233 files or 1,000 something files if it is a big city like Cavalon, downloading at 5k/s . My internet connection is fine. I don't have any trouble surfing the web.
Once I do finally zone, the game plays fine.

Someone please help.

give it time to re-DL all the maps. and yes, espicailly on dialup, maps sometimes have to be reloaded at first

You lost your whole Dat file where all the Info on all towns and maps are stored on your computer thats why, you are redownloading it every time you zone into a place, it will take a while to get your Dat file back to where it was.

You can speed it up by maping from town to town and while in a town just walk out every exit and let it download and enter town again, lot of towns and exits but only way to do it.

That is what I thought at first. But if I go into a zone and DL it, then go back to it has to download again. That is what is frustrating.

Also when I try to PVP it has to down load every time, which of course by the time I get there the match is long over. It has never had to do this before.
