Quest leveling gone wild..

This post by no means is negative but its pondered me for quite some time.

I've had factions for awhile now. But I still don't get why they allow players to level up purely by quest. I mean its rediculous within 2-3 hours I can already be level 15. I mean sure the max level is 20. But once you hit cantha thats achieved with handful of quest from there. Thats how I got the survivor title on my assassin( As of my knowledge I am the only one I have seen with a survivor title..)

Whats the motivation for this?

Fast leveling is there to avoid boring level grind.

Be happy though, you can still spend you time on skill grinding... :/

I could be mistaken, but I'm guessing the reason characters level so fast is not to avoid the level grind, but to maximize the amount of Factions content that can be enjoyed with non Factions characters. Would it be that fun to bring characters over from Tyria (or from future chapters) if you came in with only like 6 missions to do at your level?

It’s because it’s geared towards more high level content, not low level content.

Grats on the title, seen many with it, two of my friends have a lvl3 and the other is working on lvl 3

Whatever the answer, it is absolutely, positively NOT because Factions is more of an expansion than a stand-alone game.

I personally preferred Prophecies. It was much more deliberate, and you got to know your class' capabilities and strengths/weaknesses much better before getting to the difficult areas (as in, southern Shiverpeaks).

With this game, I took my new Rit through Shing Jea, and once I got to Kaineng, I was just getting destroyed with a full hench team. Sure with my Proph characters it's all easy, but that's because I learned how to use them effectively.

It seems that factions also has a "farming" essence to it. Because if you can solo/PC party in cantha every other drop is an ID checker. I do like the treasure chests, garunteed purple/gold. Thats fun when you find one and run back to get the key from a merchant in the zone.. lol

I can agree with you on prophecies, alot of enemies actually challange you. You don't just go whizzing by blazing guns. Like the hydras near Yak's Bend. I remember when I got attacked by those.. I ran like a sissy cause it freaked the crap out of me. Prophecies also is really based on monster based weaknesses. Like elemental damage versus a foe or kind of weapon that is more effective. Its few and far between in factions.

I like how Factions level you quickly, otherwise how can you be on par with the Tyrian characters and join a party of those characters?

Still, Prophecies was much better at setting the mood of the story with hardships/difficulty related to your lower level in post-searing Ascalon. Can't say that with Cantha.
