Rubbies goin up again

although not much goinup but i notice it keep goin up 100-200g per day from 1.1k till 2.5k is it true ther gonna be new armor req rubies? or saphire? i just stock some of em while price is low , jst in case it blow up again li ke before. post yur oppinion here pls

Chapter three is months away. Speculation is pretty retarded at the best of times, let alone months in advance. As the release date winds down to weeks and days people may have a better idea depending what info is released during preview events.

depends.. there was a thread a while back before Factions was released talking about the uses of monstrous eyes, claws etc.. no one knew what to do with them, but I recall one guy saying he was buying loads.. i reckon he made a fortune in the 1st week of factions been released.. i know i could find claws for love nor money for the 1st couple of weeks..

Lol, people will be making threads asking if rubies will be used for the new armours right up until the day the 3rd chapter is released and its going to be the same as it was with factions, we wont know until the game comes out. All anyone can do is guess.

Sapphires dont seem to be dropping anymore, i havent seen one in a while, ive had a couple of rubies drop tho, if armor does require rubies and sapphires in chap 3, itll be the sapphires that go crazy.

My opinion is if armors require rubies/sapphires they will start dropping like crazy. Right now they drop about as rare as black dyes, or maybe even rarer.
The monstrous items dropped pretty rare pre-factions, and when factions came out they tanked considerably since they are no longer "rare" drops. I remember doing the missions in cantha and seeing them drop like hot cakes and thought "wow this would be a good farm spot for those things." What a let down once I went to the rare materials trader I saw how bad the monstrous items had tanked. I feel bad for anybody that bought stacks of those things pre-factions and seeing them tank down to nothing. If the past taught us anything you might wanna think twice before investing in stacks of gems...
But it's all a gamble. I could be way off base and they might still drop rare and be a requirement of "new FoW" armor or something? Guess we'll have to wait and see...

I can't wait until Rubies and Sapphires DO shoot through the roof. My storage has four slots taken up by The Collection: Ectos, Shards, Rubies, and Sapphires. Whenever a Ruby or Sapphire drops in mission, I always buy it off of the receiver; and when prices plummet at the trader, I'll buy one or two.
^_^ I enjoy my collection of Shiny Things. I even saved an Ice from the Cold One mission in Sorrow's Furnace, because it's shiny like the sapphire. For now, I just enjoy having them...
.... but just wait until they become useful. XD

Oh, seems I forgot my two cents.
To me, it would make sense for rubies and sapphires to be used in Chapter 3 in much the same way amber and jade are used in Factions, but that's just my simple-minded opinion.

I currently have a stack or rubies and saphires from the whole hype that ch 2 would need them. i havent sold them just because there has to be a use for them planned sometime, otherwise it wouldnt be there at the trader. so that way when it becomes time, i wont have to fight people at the merchant for them.

Maybe they will have a different use besides crafting armor. Maybe they will be used to do some cosmetic changes some players have been wanting like new hair styles, faces, etc.
I can't see Anet making them used to craft armor unless they increase the drop rates like they did with Monstorous claws, eyes, etc in Factions.
If they keep them as extremely rare drops, and say in an upcoming update they add a Cosmetic Merchant that uses Rubies and Sapphires, well I think they will command a very high price indeed.

To a reminder for all people you could be scammed by someone claiming to sell a sapphire when it's actually an Ice since they have same skins..

My guess (and all one can do at the moment is guess!) is that Chapter 3 armors will require totally new components. Where were jade and amber before Factions was released?

i hope they drop as often as monstrous items do from afflicted. Monstrous items made me feel like the biggest retard in guild wars. Stocking up for so long to watch prices drop. Luckily i got everything to the merchant, either way i still lost money.

Logically it would be a new crafting mat thats required for ch2 armor. To use Rubies and sapphires in the same way as amber and jade would mean insta armor for those who had hoarded them. Anet like level playing fields.
Tho we had claws, eyes and fangs these all became common drops. By their nature R&S would need to be rare drops and tho I have a few stashed away I would'nt go overboard and put all your money into them
