GWGuru: Time for new Host?

I love this site, and the forums, but for the last couple of months, if the site isn't intolerably slow, there are database errors, sometimes both!

I really hope these problems can be resolved soon, because most of the time i am finding myself giving up on this site and going elsewhere

I have noticed the problems got much worse after Factions was released. Something does need to be done cause this is getting highly annoying. Hell try bidding on items at the last minute. Flipping auction pages keep choking on me all the time.

I agree. A new host is badly needed.

Same here, sometimes I think my connection failed because it takes so long to load. I'm on broadband too. What could help a bit, but not a lot, is to drop the 'who's online right now' bit with the hundreds of names. Pointless since you can't find anything and nobody reads it.

Yes same with me site is very slow and just right now it took me 10 minutes to post here cause i got 5 database error's and then the long wait for it to load.

I am also on broadband.

this has been a long term problem but inde will find a way to fix it

sigh this guru host dies a lot. i swear everyday 3 times at least

I doubt they use shared hosting, I'm positive it's being run off a dedicated server of some sort. It requires a hardware upgrade, not a new host.
