I'm glad a.net has opened the two missions on Shing Jea Island so anyone can do them. Yet there still remains a couple of areas which cannot be accessed by Tyria characters. Could we have the following opened:
  • Shing Jea Island Arena (Level 1-10) - I think this is a wasted Arena, it take almost no time at all to reach level 11+ so this place is currently overlooked. Go there no and there is never anyone there. Therefore this arena should be added to the Random Arena rota so at least higher levels can use it, and it wouldn't go to waste.
  • Monastery Overlook - This has been requested by Tyia and Cathan characters, why can't we go back to this area? Could it be made open so we can get that missing part of the map? There no real reason to keep this locked out once you exit it.
I'm on of these people who likes, if not needs 100% of the map complete. As in TRUE 100% of the map. And currently these two bits are missing and it is annoying nevertheless.

/agreed when i restarted my ranger i made sure I mapped this area properly, only mistake i made was going into the arena to map it, and then getting killed thus losing my chance to get my Survivor title (and the area does count, as i watched my 'mapped' area increase once this area had been covered)

Original post is incomplete.

They should open up all the Tyria arenas to all Tyria characters also (ie: Ascalon Arena, old arenas).

Leave the arenas in Tyria as they are - but something should be done with the Shing Jea arena. Adding it to the Random Arena's would be good.

Monastary Overlook should be opened - doesn't make sense that the portal is one way.

The Shing Jea arena would probably be better if it was opened to lvl 1-15 like the Shiverpeak Arena next to Yak's Bend. This way there would be a larger variety if characters possible, as well as still keeping "powerful" lvl 20 charcters in the PvP arenas (although I once saw a lvl 4 mesmer in the Random arenas).

As for Monastary Overlook, I don't think it matters too much. To get 100% on your title, you don't actually need ALL of the map. You can have some little bits and pieces still un-explored. I should know, my NECRO has 80% of Cantha uncovered, and they only did a quick run through Rhea's Crater, and most of the Forest to get to outposts. Although I wouldn't mind being able to run around that little area.

You see you missing the point, there are some of us (Well many of us in fact), me included. Who just don't want to get the Grandmaster title for the map, we also want to uncover ALL sections of the map.

Which is currently impossible since we don't have access to these minor areas.

A.net has already opened some areas of the map, why not all of them?

I don't suppose opening a portal or two would be hard or make it unfair or anything as those who enter the arenas for exploration would get their own version of the map and wouldn't make any interference with anyone. It would also help people better discover dis/advantages of arenas thus making pvp play rise to a higher level. I also agree about the monastery outlook thing, but frankly I don't understand why closed it off! The only way I found of going back is to do a ranger and do the insignia quest about how to stop them kiting. Still, it's pointless to keep it locked I think.

maybe if they didn't add the parts that are not accesable by everyone to the total percentage, then it would be good as it is, but then there are allways those who wants the complete map, restrictions or not

Its already possible to get a false 100% of the map even with these bits missing.

But the main reason is because me and many others simple want a complete game map.

Just to add a note to this idea. I'm currently stuck on 99.6% of the Cathan map complete with my Tyria character.

Having to run all over the place to uncover those tiny missing bits >_< If the Overlook was open to all, this wouldn't even be an issue anymore.
