If you could go back to the beginning, would you have done it differently?
X of Thulcandra
The title may sound weird, but I was thinking...if I you could go back to when you first started playing Guild Wars, what would you have done differently? I probably would have created a caster (Mesmer) instead of a warrior, now that I know the game well.
Myth
I would have created a true Nuker (which i did 2 months after i made my first character. My Ele/Mo) instead of making a W/Ele which back then I called a "nuking tank." Hey! give me a break! this was preorder (the first one) we where all newbs back then. (on a side note, I think thats when i like the game the most. When every single person was a newb and no one had any idea of what they where doing.)
Arkantos
My first char was warrior, and to this day my warrior is still my main I wouldnt change anything. I went through the game without runs, learned a hell of alot.

I'd have probably also created my Necro sooner. I absolutely adore her. Maybe a mesmer too... I've just recently decided I'd like to play one because of their complexity and nuance.
Mtank325
Not gotten a run to Droknar's with my Ranger. Don't like getting run anymore. Prefer to play the game.

if i could go back i have lots of stuff i would do, i wouldnt sell a 500k axe for 5k, i would use all the good farming spots before they were nerfed, i would be awake for the trader reset, oh well i will put more later.
Ilya Khan
my smiter was a Me/Mo with max fast casting and smiting. I thought it was so cool to have echo+symbol of wrath. I went through basically the entire game monking, smiting, and protecting. It was only once I reached the THC that I realized just how good mesmer skills were.
lyra_song
THe only thing i would do different is NOT spend so much money on my warrior.
My first run through, i upgraded my armor at every major town and constantly bought upgraded weapons. I also sucked at knowing what weapons were good, so i paid for some stuff that now i look back....were complete garbage.

Dahnel
would have started pvping eariler
The Real Roy Keane
I wouldn't have run a Bane-Signet Vital-Blessing-Orison of Healing-Bow wielding Ranger.
I wouldn't have laughed at people for using swords or Frenzy.
I wouldn't have thought myself superior for playing a mesmer ( I listened to the cretins who told me Warriors were for dumb folk, Mesmers for smart ones)
I wouldn't have sold that max damage perfect stormbow-which some kind hearted guy gave me for free-for a piddling two hundred gold.
Ah who am I kidding..I wouldn't have changed a thing.

I would have made something other than a monk my first character. Turns out I walked through the entire game more or less blind to the environment, concentrating on lifebars... had the awsome idea to have boon in my build in the desert as the only monk.. and have since learned that I need to be basically asleep before I become a good monk.
Played my warrior as damage warrior and not tank through Tyria.
And.. that's about it, I enjoy the other characters I play, and have learned that if I don't enjoy them, the delete button is a great asset

Juicey Shake
if I could go back with all of the knowledge I have now... I would have farmed riverside and controlled the rune market pre-rune trader, bought way too many HoD's, found a select few people to tell the secrets of pvp and dominate it for the first few months, and lastly, bought multiple stacks of ecto at the economy reset.
otherwise, I would have done everything exactly the same.

dreamhunk
I would have never delected all my ecto I had save LOL
Vermilion
Where should I start?
After farming 100k, buying 15k for my war rather than 1.5. (ended up wasting it anyway)
Deleting my first ranger
Making A Male Necro (Or a necro at all)
-buying 3 sets of useless armor for said necro
-Everything else which makes him my best equipped character, who I don't play
Using a different name for my Monk
Not wasting 40k on runes..
Not selling a Sundering Sword Hilt 20/20 for 30k.
Not Salvaging some things at certain times to get materials rather than mods
Did I mention that Necro armor was all dyed silver and white? gah
not buying a Lieutenants helm
not getting Droks armor on my ele right before deleting her..
and accidently merching her green staff
not leaving a great guild
And for the biggest...
After buying the game, my sole goal was to be able to Trollfarm. I never even thought about doing the missions/quests. Its like wasting your entire childhood practicing to be a janitor.

Bane of Worlds
I would have stopped spending so much money on my warrior lol since I love using spellcasters more then melee fighters and tankers lol my main is a necro hence the sn , I love playing classes which have verstality
also would have started a monk and actually played PvP when no one even used a IWAY build, also you could've actually got into a group without rank too for HoH lol

Vahn Roi
I would have kept my first character for one. Second I would not have made all those characters I ended up deleting and saved myself a good 600k.
xuemin
i would have made my ele shorter >.> she's the tallest female ele you can get with "candy floss" hair as one ex-guildie put it.
also probably, not buying her a 15k aero set since i don't really pvp and so it doesn't get used at all =/
switching the names on my ele and monk probably, so i could pretend to be a chinese monk farmer rather than japanese >.>

Haggard
Not given up on warrior fissure. Twice. Only now am I actually getting it (5 months late).
Age
I would of did my chars. differently and grouped with as many as I could.I might have given up on my guild and left or get some good members in it.I didn't creat it I was just appointed leader by the founder.I played beta and knew hat to expect but I didn't pve all that mutch as there wasn't enough time.
Sir Skullcrasher
lets see, i would do the following:
1) Make either elementlist or necro instead of my main tank
2) Play PvP more often in the beginning
3) Farm more areas and get enough for 15k armors
That about it.

LightningHell
I wouldn't accidentally delete my Mesmer who had some nineteen stacks of ectoplasm on her...
And I would have crafted four hundred...yeah, just about right...HoD swords, and sold them before Factions came out.

Seef II
Wouldn't have blown money on expensive crap, like a 14% while hexed mursaat hammer. I'd easily have 700-800k now if I didn't waste money.

If i started again i would have cashed in on solo UW while it was brainlessly easy and ecto dropped like rain at 18k each.
QuietWanderer
I would have liked to have joined a better guild. It seems to me the people that hook up with good guilds ease into the game a bit easier.
aB-
I would have made a monk, and solo farmed the UW prior to the numerous nerfs. When I was satisfied, I would reveal the build and become famous.
draxynnic
I'd probably have sold the superior absorption that dropped for me back when they were close to the 100K mark, and replaced it when they started dropping like rain.
That's the main thing - there are a few smaller things (like not customising some weapons that I customised, and not messing up Stolen Artifact with Aeron by doing the quest as a Me/E instead of a Me/N and being foolish enough to accept the reward) but they're the main ones. My first two characters - Aeron and Gwenyth - are still the characters I make the most use out of.

Forbes
I would have changed the appearance of my ele. I love him to death, but he is ugly as sin (which I apparantly thought was a good thing at the time). Perhaps a couple of my characters names. Probably would have joined a guild sooner, though it was nice going through the game clueless the first time .

Aside from 15k, I've wasted most of money on dye experimentation.
Raging Pacifist
Would make "revolutionary" pvp builds.
Would buy a ton of HoD swords.
Would have 55'd from the beginning.
Woulndn't have started as a W/Mo.
Would have made friends with the person who created IWAY and made them quit one way or the other before the fact.

Iceman2
wouldnt have bought new armor everytime i went to a new town
would have sold dragos flat bow the day i got it (back when it was still 140k)
wouldnt have deleted my necro after i got droks armor for him

Avarre
Would have read my own solo mesmer 55 guide and run it extensively before changes.
Nevin
Not have made my warrior "runner" who didn't cash in as much as I thought he would... I made three times as much as he did with my Necro doing Thirsty River runs in a week compared to the month it took my runner.
eternal pho
Starting pvp earlier while it was ez to get into groups, but now..
Muse of Shadows
I started playing Guild Wars 5 months before the release.
Things I would do differently are:
1) Build my current computer back then so I dont miss out on the first 4 months after release when the pice of sh** laptop goes out
2) Do not purchase a second collectors edition.
3) Start serious PvP much sooner
4) Create my 4 primary characters the first day and do not remake them - would save me a great deal of time and money, and I would have my minipets now.
I think thats about it.

Ka El Windstorm
saved a hundred bucks.
Kook~NBK~
I would have made my Mesmer character before I made my Monk, because I like playing my Mesmer tons more, and she would have gotten my Monk's name, which I like tons more. - Go figure
And I would never have gotten a bear as a pet for my first character, a Ranger. Who knew that it would go nuts and maul the poor guy, bringing him to an early death.

Formina
Wouldn't have bought 15k Saintly Armour, dyed black for my Monk mule. >.<

Okay, maybe it's a dumb idea, but it would work.

Well, if I could have a second chance then maybe I would have started to play PvP Right in the beginning. Not couple months after release.
Akhilleus
No.
i've made a few dumb mistakes here and there, but i think in the end everything worked out for the better.
