Pack Earth or Fire in an E/R Build?

HI.

Ive been playing a Fire Ele/Mo for a while now And changed to Ranger Yesterday..

Main focus on Bow attaks but I whant some ele skills for backup when it gets crowded around me..

So.. Fire PBAoE's or Earth Wards/Armor??

Please state Pro's and Con's..

Fire: Pros: Makes them scatter. Cons: Your monk gets the mob after they scatter. :P

Earth: Pros: You get significantly less damage. Cons: You might die instead of your monk. OH NOES.

Yeah, I'm very pro-Earth.

Well.. beside the healer is usually were Ill be when I set of the fireworks so your saying stick with Fire?..
As ill be moving around much more now I was thinking wards would be useless if I constantly run out of them.. know what I meen?

Any other thaught on this?

As I told you, I'm very pro-Earth. I'm not being sarcastic.

In a very, very, very stereotypical way...

If you want spike damage to a single target - go AIR
If you want AoE damage to multiple targets - go FIRE
If you want defense, with a limited mix of the attack abilities above - go EARTH
If you want snares/hexes - go WATER
