Henchmen Dropping Gold?
TopGun
...Have they always done this, or is this a glitch? I have a picture for those who don't believe me, but I was just playing and some of my Henchbuddies died... and dropped Gold for me. O.o Dead true, give it a shot.
Always knew Jamei was a w***e...
EDIT: Alright, I can't get the bug to replicate 100% of the time. I was working with an 8 man group outside of Tahnnakai Temple when it triggered... unfortunately, my pic doesn't show the gold on top of Hench's bodies, so it really isn't worthy evidence... will try to get a better picture.

LOL, it's a glitch, I have heard about many people exploiting this on a second account.
Waywards
I've noticed henchmen dropping gold too. Mobs that kill each other also drop loot you can collect. It looks like a bug and a serious one (it affects the precious economy).
I'm not doing anything serious at the moment because I suspect a rollback is imminent. I hope ANet decide to just fix the bug quickly instead.

It's not a bug, it's a feature. Acctually, it was in the update, Anet did it on purpose.
CHunterX
They don't drop it all willy-nilly. Whatever share they have picked up while you were in a specific zone will drop once they die, but it will be redistributed throughout the party. So no farming henchmen .
TopGun
There was an update, but this wasn't an included feature. Increased faction pointage was, but not Jamei dropping her s1ut Gold. ;-)
Yeah, I hope they don't rollback, I've been going after greens all morning, and if I get it, I'd hate to see it disappear on me... ugh I hate rollbacks! Let's hope they don't resort to that.
CHunterx, Yeah, that seems to be the case... but its the most wacked out bug in the world. ANet probably won't rollback because of that reason... but think about it-
You and a hench are farming. You pick up 20g. You share it 10g each.
Then the hench dies. She drops 10g. You pick it up. You share 5g each.
You just made 5 gold.
Now, apply it in higher quantities... you definately can farm these bastards.

Well, I red about it today on a german site, and they said it was an intended part of the update. Perhaps they just thought so. Anyways, the amount they drop is pretty small, 6-9 gold, that ca 1 gold extra for you, not much, me thinks.

If it really was a bug...wouldn't have anet done something by now?
Kabale
Ehm....
No.
No.

I got some gold items last night watching NPCs and monsters (or monster on monster groups) duke it out (I figured it is easier to take down the winner on the monster on monster groups).
I am sure that this will be fixed quickly so go collect the loot while you can.

Call me crazy, but... that's really not fair to the henches lol.
What if by extension YOU die in a party and suddenly YOUR stuff gets dropped and the rest of the party can pick it up?

Can you say "Rollback"

Someone needs to test to see if your gold goes down when you drop however.
Navaros
It would be ridiculous to rollback everyone over such a minor issue. People need to chill out with regards to rollback talk.
Anyhow I tested this out today by getting some henchmen killed, and they didn't drop any gold at all for me.

I doubt this would be a rollback, it not like everything is selling at 250g, a minor bug fix would be all.

Rollback will make me... a little peeved, to say the very least. ><

I dont get it... did ANet not think that this would allow people to get their drops that are split equaly with the henchies or what? Its literally as easy as killing the henchies now to get a little extra money.
.neuronster.
I am hoping they fixed it. I couldn't deal with another rollback.
Eh...while we're on topic about henchmen, why do we have to share the gold with them anyway? You know when you pick up dropped gold and you split it with the henches. What do henchmen need with gold? *rolls eyes*

I would think it's a passive-aggression move to get people to play with other people rather than henching the entire game.
:On Topic:
The more I think about it, the less 'game-breaking' this bug seems. They may just remedy it with a fix rather than a rollback.

I was thinking that. Its a very minor bug. They probably already fixed it. >.>

You are in a party with seven no-gold henchies. 96g drops. You get 96g.
Who would ever party with real people, EVER?

Maybe people aren't considering the sucky drawback to dropping your henchies down to 60%DP. It becomes really hard to kill jack.
I've been mapping some of the obscure places in South Shiver as I work towards the Master Cartographer title. As I went through the Mursaat and the henchies went down I thought cool I get a little kick back for them dying. After we were all at 60% DP from Ice Imp swarms and Mursaat ass kickings the few gold I made from the "kickback" wasn't worth the extra time it took to kill the foes. We did eventually clear the whole area, except where the Mursaat monk boss resided with another 10 Mursaat/Jade (mesmers, necros, and bows). Maybe we could have eventually killed them but I just didn't think it was worth the extra time.
Playing with friends and guildies is always better. I don't think this will alter peoples play style. Those of us who play with our hench friends, real friends and guldies will continue to do so. Those who PUG or play only with guildies will still do so. Making an extra 500g over an entire trip just isn't worth changing your whole play style.
Big Tony
Well...either way...they just patched the problem. Again, Congrats to the lucky non working folk who kill-farmed henchies for a few 100k today lol
