does anyone know how to make white dye for a mesmer noble armor?

i know each kind of armor takes dye differently and i was wondering if there was one for mesmers

somenoe suggested 3 silvers and a yellow but i tried that and got a color close to barf... no joke...

any way if anyone knows and wants to share thatd be really cool thanks in advance

Well, what i've seen is that there was a huge thread about dyes, where at some point everyone was searching for the ultimate combination of dyes for 1 white dye. It seems that the female 15k enchanters was often pointed out as the closest of being able to have a white color. But i haven't heard of any improvements.

Factually, dye mixing naturally makes the resulting colour darker than its two originals, so it's impossible to create a 'white' dye.

And contrary to what some people belive, mixing white with any other colour that isnt white, results in a darker colour.... even if the effect is to make the darker colour 'lighter'. (which it does...)

(which it does...) Spoken like someone who has never played around with the dye combinations in GW - they don't always follow typical color rules! FYI, adding silver dye to any combination tends to make a lighter color than the original.

As for white dyes, a typical combination is silver + yellow + silver (in that order). Some armors look to be more truly white with a third silver added to the mix, and sometimes a dye remover works better in place of the yellow dye. I've had varying success with these depending on the armor, but I haven't tried it on any mesmer armor, so I couldn't say about that speciifically. In my experience, monk armor and some ranger armor have responded the best to "white" treatment. Hope this helps!

on nobles armor i did the combo of silver+silver+silver+yellow and got a disgusting grey color which i couldnt help but sport of several months because it was unique but ugly. I have yet to find a white for mesmer however.

PS: Order of mixing doesnt matter.

I think there's no way of getting a white color on cloth armors. You'd rather get light (dirty) gray by applying combinations of silver/remover/yellow... It seems that only metallic armors -W- can get close to white.

hmm yeah those combos didnt work for me either.....

thats sad news cuz a white nobles armor would have looked really cool with my IDS..... which then raises the question as to why i have a mesmer with an IDS.... but whatever

thanks for all your replies

I hope you didn't do silver+silver+silver+yellow. That would work the same as just silver+yellow. I heard that dye remover makes colours lighter, but I don't have the gold to test that.

so for mesmers it would make whatever dye you use have a green tint to it

thats just what ive noticed with my mesmer armor any way

btw, dye remover reverts to the default color, so with a mesmer, it acts like a green dye.
