The August issue of PC Gamer magazine is out in the U.S. and they've got a review of Factions plus a very small preview of Chapter 3. I can't give a word for word post because of copyright laws. Don't look for it on line either. They only post older reviews.
To sum up, PC Gamer gave Faction 80% out of 100, which is "Excellent." Ninety per cent or higher is "Editor's Choice." They loved the visuals, the fact that Prophecies isn't required and, of course, no subscription fee. They didn't like that there's "no grouping tools," and that you "can't resurrect inside missions"....which sounds misleading to me becasue it's not exactly true unless your whole party is killed. They also dinged Factions for the new faction system being "designed for large guilds."
Overall though, it's a good review. Not a great one, but good.
In their tiny preview of Chapter 3, they didn't really reveal anything we don't already know. They say that it will "focus more on content and gameplay enhancements than Factions" and that there is an African theme that will have desert and jungle settings and "giant tropical beasts."
Factions Review in PC Gamer Magazine

I think Gamespy was probably paid off to give Factions a 4 1/2 out of 5 stars when they reviewed Factions. The score PC Gamer gave Factions is more inline with how the game is setup. Then again I think Gamespy WAS the first online\offline reviewer group to review Factions. Although I never trust Gamespy's scores.
