See topic. A friend got many sapphires so they got not totally removed from game.
But when he sell to trader, he gets only 250 gold from them and the trader is not selling it then.
Does anyone know something about that?

It's a well known BUG that is there for a couple of weeks. I repeat, it's a BUG not anything else, it's NOT the case somebody buys them all out for a month.
They still drop as normal (same rarity as rubies)
The trader is bugged so he won't show them in his inventory anymore and he is offering only the minimum price of 250g for them all the time (yes, 250, even if he shows more - just click Show Quote and it's always 250)
The trader's buy price got reset and isn't affected by supply/demand model like every other material, he just buys them for the same price as any [Merchant]

I've got a few... used my last bunch for a quick cash inflow when chapter 2 came out, probably going to do the same for chapter 3, to fund my skill points and armor.

And like mentioned its just a bug. Also sapphires are still dropping. I like how they drop in zones in factions.

I am actually hoping there are no major uses for rubies and sapphires, otherwise a lot of people will become rich. I hope it is lightly used, like the monsterous items, so they are still worth something, but it won't make the people who have large stacks stored up become multi millionaires. It's too late for newer players to invest in sapphires and rubies now.

I think it's a huge stretch to imagine them putting an important use for rubies and sapphires in the game without a corresponding increase in the drop rate. Hence any profit off of them will be short lived, maybe only for a day or two, as people rush to be the first to get the new crafts before the economy catches up through new drops.

When Factiosn came out and then this bug happned, I saw people selling sapphires @ 50k each... i t was amazingly sad. No use for them, yet few peopel were buying them up at this price....

Just remember... in the commodities market you can make a fortune or lose your shirts overnight. Saphires and Rubies can be considered commodities.

hey malice, thanks for your input in my other thread thing, and yeah, Eve Online is calling me too, i love the space fighting lunacy of it, baiting with cargo pods and roaming 0.0 space scared shitless in my caracel with some corp mates. The missions are terrible though.
As for rubies and saphires, LOL, i remember selling em off and giving the gold away months ago when they were worth 6k per :| good choice i suppose!

It'll be about a week at least I think, just like with the monsterous claws and fangs, anyone who brought those in bulk made an easy 400%+ profit when factions went live.

Everyone bought em up cause Gaile said there might be a use for em in factions, then people like you hoarded and now you think you are smart lol. What will crazy money wanting people thinl of next. I dont really mind if they dont have something to do with em though. The only people who would care are like my quote buddy...
