Mornin' all.
I've currently got a staff which gives +1 to Domination 20%. I am also currently using a Minor Rune of Domination, so this will give me a 20% chance of my domination abilities hitting 15.
I'm interested in knowing what benefits I could have of using a Superior rune for a 20% chance of hitting 17.
The one I'd be most interested in is if Blackout hits 8 seconds on 17 domination. Other than that, do we know if 17 hits any other "steps" for domination skills, or are they linear?

17 domination gives a -9 surge/burn/weariness. Therefore it's likely to give a 8s blackout too (since they share the breakpoint of 14)

If my calculations are correct, it gives a 8s BO. Useful, but if you're talking about a -9 Surge and Burn build then it's better with a 20/20, and a 20 recharge wand, since the 36% really becomes noticable in the long run.

Ahh 8 second blackouts? *runs off to rub it in diversion's face*
Recharge has, and likely always will, be more useful than the other wand/focus/staff abilities...however it is really useful when that 20% fast cast triggers on the healing touch that I would've powerblocked...man stuff like that really blows. Thank goodness not many people use fast casting gear >.>

Thanks chaps.
In all honesty, as much as I love the idea of an 8 second blackout (Blackout and Hex Breaker being my favourite skills in the game), I'm not convinced a 75 point health penalty for a 20% chance of an extra second of blackout is worthwhile. From what I can tell, most of the skills I use have linear rather than stepped progression.
Cheers for the replies guys.

Best use I can see of the 20% +1 mods are of two cases
+1 to maintained enchantments
---also for looping skills (can't think of any off the top of my head though)
and for those times where you only have to cast said skill once; and a constant cast time is preferable.

Yeah, you can try and rub it in Diversion's face, but youll have to wait another minute before you can try again, if you should fail.
