Here is my build on how to solo farm for Axe Totems.
It easily kills the behemoths, their life pods, and can also handle the wind riders with no real difficulty.
There are probably better build then mine, but I know that this one works (Besides, I hate playing Wammo).

As for getting to the falls, there are already other threads with the map, so I won't bother posting it.

You will need:
1. An Axe- I use Victo's but any good one will do
2. A LongBow- stats don't matter, just the firing range, although lengths poison is usefull
3. Armor- I recommed Gladiator's + 1 set Ascalon, energy is important
( a sheild goes without saying)

The Skill set:
1. Apply Poison
2. Penetrating Blow
3. Executioners Chop
4. Sprint
5. Melandru's Resilence {Elite} (I suppose you could take a better elite skill, but I don't have a better one, and this skill also make fighting the wind riders easier)
6. Troll Urgent
7. Healing Signet
8. Your Choice- I would take an additional offensive skill

You could also remove the urgent or the signet, but I like to play it safe.

Getting to the Behemoths:
Crossing the first 2 screens should be a walk in the park.
Once you get to the falls, start running- Use sprint when getting near a group. If the spiders cripple you, use Resilence to to negatate the degen.
Getting past the jungle trolls should also be easy, just make sure they don't corner-trap you.

Killing the Behemoth's:
There are 2 options
1. Do not approach them. Use apply poison, and fire with your longbow from a range, so the lifepods won't popup.
2. If the lifepods do popup, whether you intended so or not, check how many poped up.
If there are 2, simply use apply poison and kill them one by one with your axe.
If there are 3, it is a bit harder. Use apply poison, poison all three of them, then focus on one, and don't forget to heal when neccassary.
If there is a group of 2 behmoth's then there will be 4 or more life pods, lure the lifepods seperatly with your bow and then kill them.
Once the lifepods are killed, just slash the behemoth with the axe, and use poison to speed things up.

Dealing with the wind riders:
From a distance from the riders, switch to your bow, apply poison and fire at the nearest one. Once they approach, switch to your axe, and continue to kill the rider. You will NOT be able to use any heal during the fight. This is where Resilence comes in handy, as it reduces the degen from Conjure Phantasm.
You should be able to kill 3-4 riders before your health gets low.
Sprint away, heal, and repeat.

It's a simple build that can probably be modified- but it is easy to use. I am always open to suggestions.
So, Enjoy.

P.S. If I knew how to post images (not links to images) I would do so.

Flatbow has greater range and elevation it has tremendous range. On the downside the arc gives it decreased range over a Longbow if your target has the elevation advantage.

Or you could just go 16 weapon mastery with Tiger's Fury and beat the shit out of everything xD

I farmed these a lot when they were worth 15-25k
I felt attacking them headon and killing lifepods was faster =/
just gotta watch ur hp when they have holy wraith on

but theres an ez way to get by that

run took about 5 mins to get there and 5-10 mins to kill everything... i ignored some wind riders

I'll vouch for this build. In 20 minutes. (The time it took me to cap the elite, and run to the Falls, plus the two root behemoths I fought.) I was able to get 2 Totem Axes.

The build works. Though I forgot my longbow and only had a recurve on me.

i used a similar build: 12 marks, 12 WS, 3 str (2nd run 12 marks, 11 WS, rest sword)

frenzy
poison arrow - together these 2 are all you need to kill the behemoths

sprint
storm chaser
troll ung
endure pain - the hardest part is getting there - this setup shouldnt die running thru the hard part with the oakhearts

last spots are a freebies- i used antidote sig and i will suvive on one run- never used the sig and found IWS wasnt needed really. 2nd run i used sever and gash and pumped sword up a bit - just to extra degen- found i didnt use those either. i wouldnt suggest bow attacks b/c frenzy and poison sap energy too much for any others. if you arent soloing, bring a rez i guess.

basically, i would stay out of pop up range of life pods and poison/frenzy as needed. if the pods did pop up, id lure em out of heal range of the behemoth and just let em attack me (they do zero dmg and arent worth the time spent killing them). run by any wind riders that arent near behemoths. for the ones that are, kill them BEFORE running by the behemoths or the pods pop up. i just poisoned them and ran- 2 poisons kill a rider with no other attacks ( with poison string at least). make sure to get out of interrupt range before casting troll to counter their conj phant. endure comes in real handy here.

anyway, its an easy run- this may not be the best build but i never died and farmed 4 axes on 2 runs in about an hour at most. the life pods are just flat out annoying ...even more than the wind riders who WILL interrupt poison arrow 3 times if theres 3 of em .....

I haven't tried the poison with a bow route but I really like the melendrus resilience, nice call. I just beat the poop out of the pods with sword/axe and then take down the roots. Its pretty fast that way.

They shoot the same distance. I believe you might be thinking of recurve bows because they fire almost like a gun. (a very flat arc, close to parallel with the ground)
