Me/Rt Troll farm (modification, not quite new)

Because taking other class builds and stitching them into mesmers is what I do.

Equipment:

Fiery flame spitter with +enchant mod (helps with IoH to get to cave if needeD)
Shield with damage reduction in stance, while enchanted, or both. (for tanking while arcane echo is cast)

Any 60AL armor.

Stats;

Fast Casting 4 + 1
Illusion 6 + 1 + 3
Inspiration 4 + 1
Restoration 12
Channeling 10

Skills;

Vengeful Was Khanhei {E} (you couldn't not see this coming)
Arcane echo
Vengeful Weapon
Sympathetic Visage
Illusion of Haste
Physical Resistance
Channeling
Spirit Rift

Using Illusion of Haste if needed (against avicara), run to the cave!

Once inside, activate physical resistance and channeling. Aggro any number of trolls, cast arcane echo, and allow them to move close. Once they're all within range to start hurting you, cast VwK. From here, using infinite channeling energy, target a troll and begin rotating Spirit rift and Vengeful weapon whenever they are charged. After VwK wears off, wait a short while (a few seconds) before recasting the copy (because this build is very low on time). Continue with Spirit Rift and Vengeful weapon, renew channeling and phy res if needed. Activate the third VwK in the fashion shown before, and finish off the pack with the same method. Make sure you keep targetting trolls for spirit rift if your target dies.

Total time from begin of attack to killing of pack -> approximately 35 seconds. Faster than with echo SoJ 55'ing, I might say, and with no real upper limit.

'But Avarre!' you ask, 'why post this? Nobody plays mesmers anyway!' Well, twofold. One, it's faster than the mesmer 55 build so if you have a mesmer and want to farm trolls mindlessly, this works better (not to mention you can probably kill just about anything else that attacks). And secondly, all those little children who complain '55 is abuse, nerf nerf!' are invited to reread the part where this is faster and more efficient than the 55 build (if all goes smoothly... and its much harder to mess up on this build than a 55 one).

Only a couple of equipment questions for you. Do you think my IDS would work on this, or should I go get one of those horribly common axes? And is -2 shield really necessary?

I think once I'm done fiddling with my Bounty Hunting in Pre-Sear that I will try this out...

Nice build, would it work the other way round? As in Rit/Mes as i sorta don't have Factions for my Mesmers account.

Edit, just noticed your credits, stealing builds for mesmers eh You like skill points too much.

Meh, the Axe makes it easier if you get a double recharge on VwK (anyone can confirm if it will trigger since axe is removed when you cast?), but I don't rely on it. Sword be fine (only need ench mod for the IoR running and channeling cast). -2 shield... probably isn't needed (its only for tanking while you aggro and get the first VwK up, you don't have the shield while holding ashes anyway). I use one simply because it makes it safer, and lets me have slightly more downtime on VwK -> the three cover a longer period of time slightly.

Of course it would work the other way around (and more effectively). Unfortunately I am not a ritualist, nor do I design builds for them, so mesmers forever! As I said, it was a modification of the Rt setup to fit a mesmer in the situation.

This works on minotaurs too and other large clusters of purely melee mobs

This build is awesome! First time I've ever gone farming, and it worked a treat. The only thing I'm missing is the enchantment mod but I should hit 1mil XP with my Mesmer anytime soon. Mesmers FTW! I ended up aggroing the whole group of trolls as I entered the cave, died, went back in there with my 15% DP and it promptly disappeared!

And as if that wasn't enough, Bazzr Dustwing dropped his green staff for me whilst attempting to cap Vengeful was Khanhei! Right in front of 7 other henchies!

I do it as Rt/Me, almost exact same build I find it faster, since you get 16 Rest. GJ for sticking to Me/ though, Avarre

To be honest I never read your thread or the builds, I only knew of VwK's usage in farming generally (hence the generic 'credit to creators' and no names given). Had to give credit all the same because wouldn't have tried it otherwise .
