At the start of this week, I started 4 brand new factons characters with the intention of taking them to tryia. A few days later, I realised that just cause you get leveld faster, you dont enjoy it as much. Would/Has anyone else started new characters in tryia sonce factions came out?

I made a Tyrian character because imo they have much better hair and face choices, not to mention a lot of skills come for free as quest rewards as opposed to buying every single one.

Just my personal IMHO, but having leveled up four chars in Prophecies, I wish everyone could have that experience at least once. Prophecies is much larger, the missions bigger and more complex, the environment much more detailed than most of Factions.

Yes! Go do it! And don't you dare leave "pre-sear" until you have done every single quest and gotten to about level 8!

I agree, actually play the game both ways first. The last two characters I made were Canthan to get them to a certain spot to farm and be as high of a level as possible. I can't remember how many times I cleared out prophecies. As far as money, it was either gonna go toward runs or skills.

I have to agree, Tyrian Chars pwn in every way shape and form (except for female monks IMO). I created 3 tyrian chars, and i recently created a canthan monk. Now im deleting him to make a prophecies monk, since they have a better choice of faces.

Yea, I made a Tyrian necromancer, simply because the facial/Hair choices are MUCH better :\

Seriously, how often are you gonna look at you char's face? I personally prefer Cantha because as an experienced GW player, I wanna lvl up fast and want the quests do be of some use. In Tyria, you're better off grinding.

You have to stare at the hair, everytime you look at them >_>

I have a Tyrian female Ele and female Mes. I also deleted a Tyrian male Monk to make a Canthan female Monk. In addition to the Monk, my female Necro and female Rit are Canthan. I enjoyed Tyrian pre-searing and Canthan newbie island.

Yeah, Tyrian charas FTW. I bought factions and made two more characters in Tyria - and neither is a Factions class. I just plain like Tyria much more than Cantha.

Only Canthan characters I'd make are an assassin and a ritualist.. and simply because you have to. I prefer the looks of the Tyrians, along with all the skill quests and storyline.

Since Factions came out I made an assassin, delete it. Then made a Tyrian necro and a Tyrian ranger.

Factions Release: I create a Tyrian Necromancer, and a Canthan Assassin (dur!).

Last Night: I delete my Assassin and replace him with a Tyrian Monk.

I just like Tyrian characters better...

Eh, I still like the face/hair of my Male Canthan Warrior better then most Tyrian models. A lot of Canthan warrior hair is aweful and very annimie looking, but the one I have I like a lot (normal looking trim cut with a part down the middle and two treads of hair down the face.. hope you know what I'm talking about). Granted, most of the time, he's got a helmet on, but still...

The only things that redeem Cantha skillwise are: new skills, skill trainers at nearly every town/outpost, and getting a whole bunch for free right in Shing Jea at the start when you train in the arena.
Aside from that, Tyria gives you more skills over more quests, making it more interesting (and in some opinions more time consuming).
In my opinion, Tyria is better than Cantha skillwise (since you can't.get.meteor.shower.in.Cantha!) and plotwise. Tyria plain and simple had better plot twists and more interesting characters.
Cantha has 'zOMG IM SHIRO RETURNED FROM THE DEAD TO KILL YOU ALL' and Togo '*bad voice*Hm, turns out this isn't a plague, I guess we should go kill Shiro'
The only plot twist in the entire campaign was discovering it was Shiro causing the affliction, and not some disease. Very disappointing.

White Mantle betraying you, Rurik dying and coming back, Khilbron turning on you (saw that a mile away!)... all of that proved for far more interesting 'wow's than trapsing around the slums of some giant city for hours just to be able to get to somewhere that looks pretty... and then have to go back.

This has been my rant, tune in tomorrow; same bat-time, same bat-channel!

agreed quests were pointless in Factions...face/hair choices were too limited but then look at Tyrian Monks or elementals or mezmers...and my fave Female ranger is from Factions, it's all about meh
