I've been working on my Treasure Hunter titles, and I was wondering where people have gotten the best drops form chests in Tyria. I've already got the first level from Luxon chests in Cantha, but now I'm looking to return home and get some great loot. I've heard that there are some good chests in the Southern Shivers and other nice ones in Ring of Fire. Where should I start looking?
Also, don't say FoW, UW, or other special areas.

I did get one realy nice Prot monk staff from a Kurz chest...then again ever tried selling a prot staff ingame? I still have the thing lol

I've had good luck in Ice Flow (between grotto and thunderhead)

zos shirvos channel(i think its spelled that way) follow west wall will find 2 chest's due north, takes 3-5 mins to get both , only have to fight 1 mob, they count towards title, went from 50 to 85 in 1 night, some nice stuff but mostley junk, can score some good mods though, got several 20% enchant/ap mods for all different weapons, highest find was a 60k 15% always bow and its only 600gp per key

It would be nice to have your items *STAY* reserved for you. They dropped for you, they should stay yours. And when you leave, the items that dropped for you that didn't get picked up should be given to you. (Like in missions). That's just my opinion though.

Kurzicks have dual gothic axes that sell well =D and other gothic stuff and an ornate shield which i like =D

I agree with X of Thulcandra, everything that drops for you should remain for you, period. What Relnor recalls in FoW is similar to what happened to me when the IDS first appeared. On my 25th run (or something like that) an IDS dropped for me but I got zapped and fell about 12 inches away from it. I was sure that the monk who had escaped would rez everyone so we could keep on going (one person needed to cap from the Ice Beast up the cave).
The monk stayed back and waited patiently for the IDS to turn unclaimed. When it did, he ran to it, picked it up and quit the group. That was when the IDS was going for 100k at Granite. Needless to say, my appartment turned into a sauna so much I was fuming red. Eventually I got one a few outings later (my warrior still has it to this day) but it's just to show that items that drop for you should remain for you.

Any chest that requires a key of 600 gold or more is considered a high-end chest. So any kurzick, luxon, deep jade, urgoz waren, etc chests you open will give you a score on your treasure title.

yea port sledge is the easiest run possible...mainly shit drops tho
ice floe - good for mursaat drops..but good drops are kinda spread out + chests dont always appear
ember - too many purples to warrant the cost of keys
hells - good drops..not easy tho
thk run - mursaat and summit drops..sometimes

i also saw someone state that Dwarven axes *can* drop sometimes in pve (ie, not only from reward chests), even though I had the impression they only drop from reward chests?

wouldnt you prefer to have someone pick the item and give it back to you? just because you had some bad experience with jerks, it doesnt mean that its always like this, ive received items from FOW runs before from people. id prefer to have them unreserved after i leave game so that i actually might have a chance to have the item..

Hands down best chest drops in Tyria are the ones outside of Granite Citadel when you have the Defend Droknars quest active. You won't find better chest drops anywhere. It's best to do these runs with 4+ people if your just hunting golds though. This IS the best run you will find.

I know where u can get up to 3 chest in 1-2 min, no mobs to fight, even a lvl 1 can do it , and its about 50% golds for me
Drop's include Mammoth axe's,Gemstone axe's, Stonecrusher's,Platinum item's, chest locations are in white circles but dont expect that theres gonna be all 3 chest there everytime, sometimes theres only 2

i alwasy farm luxon chests. The drops may be perfect like i always get perfect archaic axes but people dont buy, so i end up giving them up in alliance chat to the first person that PM's me.
If there is a chest thats in middle of a oni spawn wait for all onis to spawn and start attacking you, this for me always drops something oni. I do Luxon chests cause they are easy, i have done kurzick but didnt find it as efficient as Luxons. Shiverpeaks are also pretty easy.

it cant be explorable. it has to be the mission itself. note where he started from. the dots arent anywhere near the gate that lets you enter the explorable place from vasburg.
cheers for this, ill try it out when GW is running again. for luxon chests, i run them in boreas explorable. pretty easy to get. just gotta know where to look for. get oni stuff every third run as well :P am doing it with 55 btw, fairly easy to handle most of it. theres only one chest thats a bit difficult to get, but it doesnt appear often anyways.  get more gold than purple from there as well.

Well, there is no "1" best place i guess to chest run, its all random drops, but
1 place that gave me a bunch of good 1's was talus chute, outside of droks, got my gold req.8 fellblade there, but also i found that solo chest runs are much worse drop wise than like with a team, even though a team isnt needed.Its hard to say, but persistance is key in not getting discouraged from the dang purps...

yea boreas explorable is easy / lots of golds just went out there got some sweet jade weapons

Indeed the drop quality is shi*e there now. Used to get good golds there almost every run. Now only get merchant fodder.

agreed, Drops have gone down hill as has the amount of chests.
I used to farm the life out of the Jade Sea from Gala hatchery to Unwaking waters. I'm seeing less chests than before as well as less gold drops. Got a nonmax req 13 set of gold daggers yesterday with no mods, I honestly cant belive the merchant even bought them, lol.

I have the Advanced Treasure Hunter title, and I did 3/4 of my chest popping outside of droks in witmans folly. I actually started from port sledge because you hook a right and run through all the azures. It's a decently easy run once you get the hang of it.
From those chests I've gotten Sup Vigor, a req 10 15^50 fellblade that I sold for 100k, some decent items i gave to friends. Its not always great rewards, but it can be. I hear Brute swords drop from Shiv chests...but I have yet to see one.

Yea thats the trouble i guess with new locations, the people who find them either a)dont tell anyone so they can get good drops for longer, or b) tell everyone and their mothers and they get nerfed before you hear about them, guess i gotta go exploring myslef

Drazach Thicket (a group helps, but solo runnable) - Kurzick drops Melandru's Hope (with group, while FF'ing is best) Raisu Palace Explorable (Oni weapons, golden pheonix blades) Gyala Other luxon areas Keep in mind I can run any of those with Me/W.. the_robert
i picked up a req8 amber longbow, id'ed it to be a 15 in stance defense+5 and bleeding 33% longer, i would say that is a good drop, shorty thereafter i picked up a hale dragon staff of warding, perfect fortitude hct of dom spells, and hrt of dom spells both 20%, so dont say kur chests suck ass

well kur chests are pretty much the same as lux chests except jade/amber
and gothic and ... i dunno anyways Kurzick chests are harder to farm and lux super easy. I havent found a good place to farm kurzick ones tho =/ thicket only has i think 3 in the whole place and the easiest to solo i think. Phoenix Arrows
A guildie of mine has gotten a nice gold shield from a Kurzick chest...didn't ask where though.
