Dune Lizard vs Black Moa
Ruby Lightheart
I curretnly have a Hearty Dune Lizard. I am at the Beak of Darkness quest..and am thinking of retiring my lizard and get the bird. I kinda like having an unusual pet so im wondering if I should go for the Moa or keep the lizard. the leveld ont matter right now cause I plan on leveling whichever i keep to dire
Yes I use my pet in quests (running a modified Barrage/pet build) But in co-op missions I tend to leave it behind cause Ive found alot of groups wont take you if you bringing a pet

Pick Me
If your Hearty Dune Lizard is Level 20, and the Black Moa is < Level 20, do you want to waste your time training it to level 20 (Hearty, Playful, Dire?), if so, then get your Moa.
Personally, I'd rather not get the Black Moa. It doesn't impress me. I killed it in a few seconds with my N/Me.

I honestly havent seen any other Dune Lizards used in Factions..and very few in Propheses. I cant tell you how many people I have had ask me where I got the "kimono dragon" at! I did make up my mind NOT to get the phoneix. While it is beautiful, it being a level 5 for an end game only available pet is rather..well..its insulting to rangers whom completed the game. That pet should been an automatic dire or at least a hearty

personally, i don't like the black moa, just because it isn't as tall as a lvl 20 moa. if it was that tall, id definately get one since my rangers head on goes up to the top of their legs, but my head goes above the legs on the black moa. i decided to stick with my white tiger. and btw, you said a lot of groups wouldn't take if your bringing the pet, then don't tell them you are =p when i was leveling my pet i would just bring charm but not comfort and let my white tiger die since pets don't have xp range and they'll still level (although you won't see when they level if their corpse is out of range, but you'll see their new level next time you see them). but if your planning on b/p'ing just say your a barrage ranger. in my experience though, i've never recieved any discrimination for running a b/p build.

could be just bad luck on my end Nirvyx. Anyhow..after doing more reading bout the Moa...I think im gonna stick to my lizard whose name btw is Gojira named after the original Godzilla
Cyan The Archer
The Black Moa will always be there, even when you have completed the quest. So you have all the time you need to decide

^Very true. I like having the biggest pet there is and right now thats the regular moa. I think ill be turning him in for a black moa cause i love the black.
Nivryx
^^DONT DO IT!! i love the regular moa...if i didn't care so much about my pet matching my armor, i'd have a regular moa standing twice my height for kicks and giggles. the regular moa is the best looking pet just because how freakishly tall it is!
trobinson97
What type of evolution does the Black Moa have when capped? I know it's level 20, but I see no Dire, Hearty, etc. titles for it. I didn't get one simply because I didn't know what it was.

^There are none, because it starts out as lvl 20, much like the spider o=

stick with your lizard.......

Actually spiders supposedly *can* spawn with Dire or Hearty attributes.
The assumption is that Black Moas are the equivalent of Elder pets, but I am unsure if this has been confirmed.

While I can't say for 100% sure that the Black Moa is of the Elder variety, I'd be willing to bet a very large amount of platinum on it. I've tested multiple Black Moas now, and they've all come out as Elder. Still, it only takes one not being Elder to prove me wrong. For now, though, I feel quick comfortable in saying that the Black Moa is of the Elder variety (which makes sense, since unevolved pets have the same stats as Elder and the Black Moa has no prefix which would put it technically at unevolved).

Spiders in the Underworld spawn out of their chests already at level 20 with their designated evolution, either Elder, Dire, or Hearty.
