I wish GW had a Guild Storage. I don’t mean Storage in the Guild Hall, they fixed that one. I mean a Storage account that can be accessed in the guild hall by any of my guild members. SO I can open it and put stuff I don’t need in it, and maybe a guildie needs it.

Just an idea

ArenaNet has said "soon", or at least "in the future", so don't expect it to ever happen.

This would be a really good idea, but I have just got to imagine someone camping the guild storage like a retarded Everquest player. I'd be all . But other people putting their stuff in knowing it was going to be sold immediately would be just like
However I just don't think people really want to be generous and put stuff in. Apart from the whiptail devourer.

Maybe make only officers able to access it? Or even make it so that when a member accesses is a notification appears for each officer and at least 1 would have to approve the withdrawal or something. Or even something as simple as a deposit/withdraw history would make it easy, along with a blocking/limitation system for who can withdraw.

Or it should be limited to officers so people cannot join and leech. Either that or a detailed log to track it all.

an easy fix to leechers taking it and then leaving the guild is to assign them a value to each item they took and if they want to leave the guild, they have to pay the surcharge first. I would love to have a Guild Storage so I can drop max items in it for Guildies rather than giving them away on Shing Jea Island or Pikens Square to low level characters. As with the many threads about this before.

guild storage would be like a separate independent guild xenia branch in the guild hall.

just as safe and secure and accessable as the regular one.

two people want to trade in the hall simply go to the guild branch vault and get what they want out of it.

size to be determined.

Something that our guild has done as well to suit this type of purpose is a whole seperate account (coined our "Mule" account). One of my officers was gracious enough to buy a new account for it ^.^, so... we have 4 people in our guild that can access it, and every character has all the bags, puches and runes of holding to hold items.

How many times have you had a nice item that you couldn't seem to sell, or didn't want to merchant or salvae, even if your storage was full?

Everything is on donation, not necessarily safekeeping. So... if someone finds a good gold sword or bow, or wand, or rune, or has extra materials to dump off, they can ask one of the "Mule Officers" to log on and take the items.

I was a little skeptical, but it has been extremely successful. Now if anyone starts a new char, is shopping for a weapon, or needs some material for armor, our Mules are more than stocked to provide it.

And people arent cheap either, we have had our fair share of green items, max Gold Chaos Axes, mounds and mounds of material (including Jadeite and Amber Chunks) and a Ton of good runes, just available on demand.

Sometimes, we merchant items to make room for others, which that gold has been used to donate for some of the guild NPC's, now we have all of them.

I dunno, maybe our guild just rocks ^.^, but theres another alternative for those who may wanna take that route.

I've posted a question / comment to arenanet on the Guild Storage that has been said to be implemented in the game at "some time soon". (I'm too impatient need answers!)

Quote:
I've read in multiple articles / interviews about Guild Wars, that you are planning on implementing a Guild storage. This has been an item since the very start of guild wars, and also has been said to be implemented sometime soon after the release of Factions.
What I understand is that there are/were issues about how money storage should be handled.
I'm a guild leader myself, and I've had some discussions on this topic with my officers and members. I think I'm speaking on behalf of most Guild Wars players that we're all hoping guild storage will be implemented soon.
I'd like to give some advice in this matter, and I hope it will help:

- Don't include money storage. Let everyone take care of their own cash. It's simple enough to donate cash to people in your guild if they need it and you can spare it. We do it all the time.
- Include a huge amount of free slots. At the monent my officers and me are keeping lots of materials, weapons, upgrades and runes for all our members should they need them. The drawback is of course the limited space our characters have in their own inventory / storage, and we have to use our forum to post what is available to the guild in our storage. If we could put all this material etc in one big guild storage, with, say 50 to 100 slots perhaps, then everyone could simply log in, go to the Guild Hall and see what's available.
- Distribution could be managed by officers and the leader. Just let members contact one of them, or leave some kind of request someway in the game, and then the officers could give the requested item, or grant the member the option to be able to take it out him/herself (like some kind of implemented option in the game).
- You could also divide the storage into a ALL member accessible part and a officers only part. That way you can decide which items can be taken out or put in freely, and which cannot. Or perhaps make an option that enables officers to label each item they put in the storage as "freely accessible item" or items that need officer approval before a member can take them out.

The most basic and imo best option is to not include money, and make it so that all members can put in whatever they want, but only officers can take stuff out for distribution.
And please make it big. 50 slots should be the minimum imo. I alone am carrying 35 slots worth of 250 materials each. Add the rare gold and green weapons, and the more costly runes we're keeping, and you easily reach 50.

Maybe slots can be bought seperately, ie. 10 slots for 10k?

Just my 5 cents. Hope it helps. Thanks for a great game!

Raymond "Sjeng" H. of the Limburgse Jagers guild.

Hope I'll get some answers on when it's gonna appear.

Guild storage is definately needed. The big question is how to make it work. The reason resources are shared is generally to help your friends or guildies and because someone doesn't have the coin to purchase the materials themselves. In additoin, sometimes a person needs financial help to purchase something they want. If guild storage were setup to allow large stacks like of 2000 Iron Ingotes for example instead of the personal 250 limit the guild storage wouldn't need a large amount of slots. And it could have options like the following:

Options

storage usage options - If a person is a memeber of the guild for X number of day (with X being ajustable by the leader and/or an officer) they can access the storage.

storage deposite options - allow the leader to set who can deposit to the storage. Leader Only, Leader and Officers, All

set a sell price per item with an option to allow leader, or leader and officers to set price. Any item with a cost of zero would be available to anyone in the guild.

Leader/Officer approval - Example: member clicks item in guild storage and indicates quanity requested. An approval botton (like the Trade button) appears on the leaders and all officers screen. A leader clicks the botton it then expands showing the name of the user and there request. The leader could accept or modify and accept the users request.

monitary usage - a request by a member for cash should require approval from the leader and/or an officer.

The guild leader should have total control of the guild storage.

This would be great for my guild and would be a great starter for guild storage.

people will find a way to abuse it no matter what Anet is going to try

OK, I agree that people will abuse it no mater what but it that reason enough to say no. It is needed for guilds to help each other and many guilds will not have issues. Its up to Anet to ban peeps that can't or won't stop themselves from abusing the system. I personally can't wait for guild storage.
