Factions story line makes people pick Kurziks side
sigried
I realy dislike the story line of factions since the firts location you visit is the kurziks side when you do the counts daughter quest. after that you go to luxon side. then you do the quest were you have to pick side or either Luxon side or kurziks.
I think this quest makes people want to pick kurziks side cuz they discoverd the kuriks side firts and then they go to luxon side.
this is a huge problem cuz its not balanced there are vast more people in kurziks side than luxon side and specially i really dislike the preference of side was given to kurziks from the start i think people should give then the right to chose side before they even visit the kurzik side.

Firstly, I only understood half of what you said, secondly...No one is forcing you to choose Kurzick, maybe everyone chose Kurzick because the price of amber was higher than the price of jade? I chose kurzick because I liked the architecture and the environment of the kurzick area, if I chose luxon, it would be for the same reason.
Another thing, the luxon to kurzick ratio is only like 1:1.2, it's not that much bigger.

I base my choice on the armor, my Warrior and Necro went Kurzik, my Ele and Ranger went Luxon. My Monk may go Kurzik and my Rit is going Luxon.

whats the deal with it, you dont really join a side for good, you can join both. -.-
and no, its not really 'biased' at all.
and after the counts daughter you do not end in a kurzick place. you end in maatu keep. this still belongs to cantha. if you mean arborstone..well, it has to start somewhere.
its been said already, nobody forces you to join a certain side.
btw, its spelled 'kurzick', not kurzik, nor kuriks.

Heh. I chose the Luxon side because it's light and I can see where I'm going. Too dark on the Kurzick side.

The Count's Daughter quest does end up in a kurzick place. The quest ends in Arborstone after you travel through Tanglewood Copse (a kurzick outpost). It's just that at a certain part of the quest, Danika stands right outside of Maatu Keep.
I guess what the OP is asking for is "Why can't we choose whether we want to do Boreas Seabed or Arborstone first?"
As for choosing Kurzick because you end up there first, I don't think it makes a difference. You get to see both sides (Tanglewood Copse/Arborstone, Boreas Seabed/Zos Shivros Channel) and the Luxon capital, Cavalon (if you don't mind a little stroll in the Jade Sea), before you have to choose which faction max out in order to continue.
As you can see, the responses so far really have nothing to do with ending up in Kurzick terrority first. I also went with armor. Whatever looks the best, I'll buy that set. Luxon, kurzick, canthan, grotto, citadel, droks and/or collectors, doesn't really matter to me as long as it's max AL and I like the look.
Sorry for being longwinded, slow day at work.

Actually, Danika's nasal, whiny voice completely soured my on the Kurzicks........

ohh well if you say so but for instance if you really like to explore i better clear up most of the places i go firts before i move to next area, once you there you you certainly have more kurzick comunication and maybe you get a good guild that is kurziks side WOW i want in so they just swithc.
for your info the counts quest does en up in kurziks area

Ahhh, I got the impression that The Emperer knew that Danika was in the area already so he sent you to her first.
You have to start some where.
You have to start some where.

i chose the kurzicks, because in the beta (weekend of 24 march if i remember correct) i went there with a friend (because it seemed more "evil" instead of the regular "good guys" at luxon), and luxon outnumbered us kurzicks like 5-1...
i also liked the armor, not the darkness... hated that, but trying to balance the sides i joined the kurzicks.. which turned out to be a completely arguement ^_^
anyway... to summarize that lump of bullshit up here:
chose kurzicks because they where outnumbered in the beta so i tried to help 'em

Kurzick's only had higher numbers because amber used to cost atleast 3 times as much as jadite (and thats just armor choice that drove that up), so Kurzick was in effect - much more profitable.

Me too, I hate the kurzick side, you can't see a thing and that makes it very hard to find your way around. That and the fact that I found out that the kurzicks were baby turtle killers.

Yeah the Kurzick area's are alot darker in comparison to Luxon, although I find that bodes well with my gaming, as I tend to always get to that "you've played 10hrs have a break" and the darkness allows me to go on a few more hrs =P
Although the main reason I went kurzick was that I liked the environment more. Started on Luxon side first actually and found a greater percentage of their quests easy in comparison to the Kurzick ones I had. Area's like ferndale are viscious in comparison to the jade sea part of Luxon lands.
At the moment though I'm up to the waking waters part of the Kurzick storyline and finding it near impossible to get human players for groups, I often wonder if had I stayed Luxon wether this would be the same case.
I'd say do what I did, play both sides for a bit get alot of exploration points for the title and sell/trade your faction in jadeite or amber depending which side you change to.

I find that more and more people r switching sides coz they loose intrest for their faction. I myself am kurzick but spend 50/50 on bot sides coz i like to farm all bosses :P and find some easier to cap on one side then on another. Its really nice to have a different surounding now and then . i donnow if this is just but imo the chests drop better too when u switch sides now and then. Only bugger is the faction thing but i keep it so that i always have finished quests and that my faction is a round figure so i can cash in at all times and switch faction sides ( to buy keys mostly ). Just my 2 cents
Arkantos
Ok, make us do the luxon mission first. Problem solved.
Blackhawk
I chose Kurzick because I liked the Armours better (Batman FTW!!), plus I had more Kurzick Faction to start with, what really annoys me is those idiots in Cavalon who say OMG Kurzick noob!!, and "go back to tree hugging", some of us are only doing the other side for Titles or the fact we've completed the story on 1 side already - Grow up kids FFS

Compare it to Old Elder Rhea, and the luxons and kurzicks are both equal in horrible voice acting

that explains everything...![]() Getting back on topic, I picked Luxon because Danika has the same voice actor of Izzy from Digimon. The Count sounds like a whinny pansy. I like the gladiator battles of the luxon mission and the awsome jade effects in luxon side. I'd have to say the main reason I picked Luxon is the fact that Kurzicks seem all to emo for my tastes. ubermancer

counts quest takes you to kurziks area why not if they give you the chance to pick wich quest to go firts.
Why cant they give you 2 quest from start. 1. counts quest ( i say this quest actually makes people pick kurziks side) 2. covocation quest( this take you to luxon area) this way you chose wich place to go firts. RinkXing
Hmm, actually, I would have thought Luxon would be more popular, because doing the Luxon mission last would leave it fresh in your mind.
However, I sort of go between different factions with different characters, and I honestly prefer the Luxon theme and areas, however I dispise the Luxon armor, thus I wear Kurzick. Navaros
I am certain that Kurzick are way more popular because Amber is worth way more money and Kurzick armor looks way better. Jade was selling at trader for only 700g each today - what a joke! Why join a side where you get 300 less gold for every piece of material (Luxon). I'm a Luxon but based on the scam-like price differential I'm regretting that choice more and more.
