Does the let the pet kill you still work?

If so is there a place to do that with normal tigers?

What? Does the "let the pet kill you" still work? Who's pet? Your pet? Your pet never attacks you.

What are you talking about? I've never heard of this method.

Suppose there is a level 3 pet that you want at level 20. You attack it, take off your armor, and let the pet kill you. This way, it gets experience and will level by killing you. When it is at level 20, throw on a stance, your armor, and charm your level 20 pet. I don't know if it still works. However, I WILL capture a level 20 Crab for you for 5k

Well its not an official pet until it is charmed.

I haven't seen a patch that mentions it being changed.

Yeah, that's all I need, a crab in Hell's Precipice or walking through the streets.

I only want a bunny rabbit as a pet.

I think it works. I haven't tried it myself but my friend said he did it on a white Tiger in the Echovald Forest. I haven't really asked him much but you should try I guess.

EDIT: Just read on another thread that made me check Guild Wiki for another look at updates. It has been nerfed. Now creatures don't get experience from killing you.

While we're on pet leveling questions - do pets get additional XP if a scroll is up?

I can confirm that this method doesn't work anymore. I tested it out and after 15 minutes or so a Lvl 3 Moa was still a lvl 3 Moa despite the fact that it should have leveled to 4 after a maximum of 3 or 4 deaths.

This update should have been expected though, ANet doesn't like people not playing the game, and watching a movie while your pet levels itself to that lovely Dire evolution sure counts. It was only a matter of time before they found out and fixed it, especially once it hit this big fan site.

Pets don't get benefits from scrolls.

Pets don't recieve DP.

It was still working a couple of weeks ago. I tamed my level 15 dire white tiger outside zu shelter (well the shrine you end up at when you die outside zu shelter) after a couple of hours of letting it kill me.

I took a guildie of mine to Zu last night. I even stayed, and let the tiger kill me too several times. After about 8 times and no leveling, I'd say they hit this with the nerf bat
