As the title says I was wondering what weapon or weapon + offhand is best for a Touch Ranger.

Currently I use a 10+ energywith +3 Insight Head staff fire staff.

But I been told there are better things use with greater defence ect...

So what should I use? And any suggestions please tell me where I can get them ingame.

Thanks

I'd imagine a...
+5 Sword (you can choose your mods)
and a +12 Blood Focus (20/20 maybe, so your skills recharge faster...)

I use a +5 energy axe with +30 health and a 20/20 collector. the axes helps following a target, just be careful of empathy and spitful spirit.

Recharge and Fastcast dont' really matter much for a toucher.

I think:

+5 Energy Sword/Axe w/ Defense or Fortitude
+1 Blood (20%) +30 HP Offhand

Look on GuildWiki for the collector offhand that has those stats.

I'll assume PvE toucher.
Sword of Fortitude(+5e)/Shield(Stance, -2/+30)
Sword of Fortitude(+5e)/Off-Hand(Blood, 20/20)
Sword of Fortitude(+5e)/Off-Hand(Blood, +15/-1)
Wand(Blood, +5e^50/Recharge 20%)/Off-Hand(Blood, 20/20)

well 20/20 helps on OoB..don't take fortitude, or you'll take more damage on OoB..

Down boy, Foon.

Personally I use a +5 energy sword (endgame Canthan crafter) with a +29 fortitude mode (best I had available from salvage, I'm not gonna pay what it costs in trade for 1HP on a perfect mod) and the collector Blood Knife focus (5 Putrid Cysts, collector in Marketplace) which gives 12 energy, +30 HP and a 20% chance of +1 Blood Magic.

True enough. I didn't think OoB. But even though you take more damage from OoB, you still end up on top with a fortitude mod. I'd still go with what I listed above, and just bring a 20/20 switch set.

I only tried the build once, but I used a PvP Insightful Bonestaff of Fortitude

Energy + 10
Energy + 5
20% fast recharge of Blood Spells
20% fast cast of Blood Spells
+30 health

Since you actually use mostly blood skills and maybe only 1 or 2 actual spells, the 20/20 mods don't matter much, but it's nice. the overall +15 energy is what's important

I'd recommend a sword or axe with +defense, so you can target foes more easily (if you attack you'll run towards them, instead of just wand, as said before.) For the focus try to find a +5 armor while enchanted with 20% blood recharge, that'd be your best bet. Anything else is personal preference, but +armor beats +hp any day for a toucher. As said, the only thing the 20% would help is OoB, but fast recharge on that is certainly a nice thing to have.

I forgot to mention my other offhand that I use in AB and sometimes in RA. It is a :
rare max req.9 Blood Idol
+5 Armor ^50
+1 blood magic 20% chance.
If you can get this in a collector version this would be perfect, or you can offer me a nice sum of money for this 1 :P

humm, so are u guys using the +5 swords and axes for the targeting or do u think its better because off a nice offhand. I used to carry a +5 sword with health mod and that straw dude. but latly Ive switched to Milthuran's Staff once i got the targeting down. My reason is in a a crunch its nice to have vamperic touch, bite and oob to cast faster, also, i only carry dodge for running and have life siphon, in fort aspen i switch rez for strip enchantment. Again the fast recharge on this is energy costly but is nice against mending monks and if the kurziks enchant their guys or luxon their turtles. In RA I will most like stay with with the +5 sword though, unsure though since ive mostly been doing fort aspen.

im using a +15 energy stuff (millus pillar)

well, my vamp skills already recharge so freakin fast i can spam them non stop, so whatever for recharge. a shield is a good idea but that +15energy means 3 more vamp touches... so no thank you, ill stick with my stuff

Well, I utterly hate the unimaginative people in RA who make nuisances out of themselves with the build, but I'll assume this is pve.

What @Reikai said for weaponry is pretty much good, but I would suggest changing the 20/20 offhand on the weapon set with the +5e^50 wand to one with a +1 to blood magic skills/20% chance...for fighting. Depends really on what you like more... I just like having both a chance to recharge OoB sooner and to have the pokes of doom do more vamp...the +5e is nice too.
