better shield
timely healing
hi guys got a question and search is down yet again. i just picked up a crafted shield from factions the req9 tactics bronze shield with -5 received dmg 20% +30hp always for 4k. what a steal. my question is this, is that shield better then collector tactics one? the -2 receive dmg +45hp while in a stance. i know the hp is greater in the 2nd one but i'm wondering which will absorb more dmg in the long run. i have both so if collectors is better i will just continue to use it and sell off crafted bronze shield or give it to friend that is just starting the game.

The second shield is far better if you are almost always stancing. If you want a lil bit of math behind it, 20% = 1 chance out of 5. So if u take damage 10 times, this mod will prevent 5 damage twice (average), making a total damage prevention of 10. If you are stancing and get hit 10 times, it will prevent 2 damage at every of these hits, which makes a total of 20 damage prevented.

Since a warrior should always be in a stance or is hexed, then the stance shield should always be worn. An +60,-3 hexed shield should be the swap.
You might also wish to invest in a stance/hexed ele/non-ele sets for killing. It proves more useful as you get into PvP. For PvE, anything with 16 armour and some -dmg is sufficient.

Warriors are not always in stance, for pve play stances are typically not used constantly in groups. Because most warrior stances evade/block melee attacks and in a group of 8 your not always getting hit by melee. Also as far as IAS stances go your not in one of those constant either, frenzy can be risky to keep up constantly and flurry up constantly lowers damage output.
Although it is nice to have a stance shield when you are using stances constant. Personally I have shields with both mods except my -5(20%) +30 has a strength req incase your not using the tactics line at all. It would probaly just be best to keep both and try to get a while hexed shield as well. A good shield would be +30 -2w/stance that way you get health benefits and damage reduction while your in stances.

-5(20%) has the sundering mod syndrome, the effects are actually pretty poor, the fact that its 20% means that it might activate when you get a really low hit, therefore it's efficiency is wasted further.
Like I said in the second part, its actually hardly noticeable for PvE, any 16AL with damage reduction will do.
Typically I carry stance for most situations since I have rush on for most of the time, and swap to my hexed for when I inevitably get phantasm or something equally dull. I do have an enchants shield, but stances are more prevailant since I hardly ever maintain enchants on myself.

Just depends on the situation and I for one have a shield for most situations.
When I run I carry
-2 stance -2 enchant
-2 stance -3 hex
-3 Hex +60 Hex
For PVE depending on what I am farming I use
-3 Hex +60 Hex
-2 Stance +30 Always
-2 enchant +30 Always
I never for any reason use the -5(20%). I think it's crap personally. The average of -1 constant (assuming you get hit hard enough to consume -5 reduction when it triggers) is not nearly as good as what you achieve with a combo of shields.
By the way, you do not need greens for all the shields I mentioned. Most can be acquired cheaply from crafters or collectors.
I also suggest keeping variants of each of these for tactics or strength.
That's my two cents.
