I've been testing various things around with my Assassin, and keep going back to a Pure Primary skillset.
At the moment, Current skills are as such.
Unsuspecting Strike
Wild Strike
Twisting Fangs
Temple Strike(E)
Exhausting Strike
Shadows Refuge
Dark Escape
Resurrection Signet
Atributes are:
16 Dagger Mastery (12+1+3 Mask+Superior)
7 Shadow Arts (+1 Minor)
13 Critical Strike (+2 Major)
My Goal behind this build was for Alliance Battles, but it has worked well for me (Quite well actually ) in most PvE situations.
The goal to do the massive damage an assassin can output, mix up some interupts and conditions, get out and heal. At first it seems very Energy dependant, but with 13 in CS and 16 in DM energy thus far hasn't been an issue with Zealous Daggers.
When I find my target, I of course see if the're a Warrior, Caster, Healer, Annoyance (Touch rangers classify as these, weak *even though many say overpowered* as they are, they mainly annoy me).
If a caster, I use Ususpecting Strike, Temple Strike then just slowly wack on them. By then Unsuspecting Strike and Wild Strike have recharged, so finish them off with and added Twisting Fangs.
If a healer.. *shudders* Start out the same way, Unsuspecting Strike, Temple Strike, then wait... wait.. if they refuse to cast when Dazed, quickly just Twisting Fangs them. If they can't see the Dazed, Exhauting Assault them as they cast. Then just Ususpecting Strike, Wild Strike, Exhausting Assault as needed with a mix of Twisting Fangs to finsih them off (By the way, a Boon Prot or any monk suffering from Exhaustion will get you called a "Hack", "Probee" <-- *not sure what that is*, "Cheater" etc etc. Just smile and find your next target).
Warriors.. These guys I mainly hit and run, Blind as needed with Temple Strike, and Deep Wound+Bleed.
Annoyance.. Touch Ranger! Now when I'm on my Ranger, a good Cripple Shot+Apply poisen do these in nicely. But on my assassin, it's a run in, Lead Attack, run out, run in, Offhand, run out, etc. I've found that Exhausting Assault comes in quite handy with them. Remember that Temple Strike will not effect them, Blinds vs T.R. = Non Effective. Touch Skills are Skills, and not a Spell so again Temple Strike not effective.
The PvE aspect with this build has amazed me. Since it can cover a Good offensive againt casters and melee, especailly with a good monk on your team.
Your defensive skills are slim. Dark Escape (Love this skill, run away fast, take only half damage, perfect to use your self heal.. speaking of which), Shadows Refuge. Nice simple heal, 7 pip +48 while attacking (Some times I drop Dagger Mastery to 15 for a 8 pip +56 attacking at 9 Shaow Arts) and I'm not afraid to spam it mid fight
Please leave your comments! And give this build a try if you have time. It's quite fun in PvP and PvE as long as your not a Shadow Step relient Assassin.
*Edit*
After quite a few AB's this build has done me wonders with a few changes. Went to /W secondary, and use Sprint and Rush taking out Dark escape and Res sig (Why I was taking res sig, I do not know lol). This lets me able to continuelly chase down my target with Rush's low Adren cost of 4, and Sprint to get in close to start the combos and harrasment. At the moment I'm trying using Heal sig (100 heal at 8 Tactics 15 Dagger 13 Critical) to see if it's burst heal is better then Shadows Refuge.
