I know there are other threads on suggesting improvements to towns, but I haven't seen this one. I mentioned this idea in another thread but thought it better as a suggestion on it's own.
Why this is needed: Town ownership has no point currently. The small discount for goods is silly at best, and unless you own the capital cities who cares what you own?
Long term ownership is also at best sad. I can't see many people caring for owning the towns once future chapters come out, and I've seen many threads where more and more people are returning to GvG and not caring about the faction ladder.
What this does is merges the highly requested features seen in other places and makes them into a single upgrade.
The Suggestion:
Adding those highly requested money sinks such as hair dressers/stylists into the towns. Each town has a stylist that can alter your looks for a price. The look is different in each town, thus to get a certain look you'll have to go to a different town.
A "Tax" is then paid to the controlling alliance as someone pays this stylist.
The town now has some sort of monetary incoming - thus has a longer staying power and a reason to own all towns, not just the capitals.
The town clothes could also be added to each town as a different style and as they are purchased the tax is again paid out.
Added: The amount of tax collected would be based off of the individuals % of donated faction. - Suggested by TheOneMephisto -
Payout would happen once a day at the same time town ownership is checked and faction points are degen'd by the 10%.
Any suggestions, additions?
